We stayed in the Old Stables in two very comfortable rooms. A warm welcome from the host, Frank. Had a swim in the lovely heated outdoor pool - a real treat after a day’s travel. On Frank’s recommendation we are at Lavenham Greyhound - really nice selection of tapas and great service. After a lovely breakfast, superbly cooked by Dawn, we headed off on our next adventure. Can’t speak highly enough of this lovely house and accommodation.

If you want a proper, modern hotel then this isn't for you. If you want to be invited into a good friend's home where they haven't quite tidied up but will welcome you with fantastic hospitality, small but comfy rooms and a great breakfast then this place is a gem. Main building is 11C and the 'modern' bit is 14C. All old beams. Lavenham village nearby looks like a Tudor film set. Traffic can be a little noisy as it's right on the A134 but didn't bother us at all.

Such a lovely little place - staff are amazing and cant do enough for you. Great food & pretty location. It's not often that I return to places as I like to visit different locations but I would return here. Clean and pleasant room. The only thing that I didnt know that the bathrooms are shared but not an issue as there are not many rooms and 2 bathrooms. Would 100% recommend.

It's very rare that you find somewhere as well run as here where all of the staff are just 'on it'. It started from a lovely welcome by Oliver who was polite but efficient, showing us to our room but constantly making sure that we knew where to go for anything. Very nice room that's had a lot of thought gone into it - even down to the shape of the waste bin (you'll see if you go there). There are only three rooms right now, but ours was perfectly appointed, very clean - and the bathroom was superb (amazing shower and separate roll-top bath). Very comfortable bed, so a great night's sleep. You're right on the main street, but Long Melford isn't exactly Oxford Street, so the noise wasn't bad. Now, dinner! Superb. Great menu choices that had been well thought through - including an excellent vegetarian selection. Modern British cooking with some new dishes such as barbeque jack fruit on a salt baked celeriac and modern twists on old dishes such as Ox cheek. The service was more of an entertainment experience than a restaurant, but it was never intrusive and always attentive. Great beers obviously with a good wine list too. Overall, good value with great service - can't wait to return. This is now our 'go to' venue in Suffolk.

A True East Anglian Inn! A traditional Inn with 14 bedrooms all but one of which are en-suite. We pride ourselves on the warmth of our welcome to all guests and 'regulars.' Our food is fantastic, traditional English style fayre and the bar is as popular with locals as it is with visitors. Almost uniquely to Long Melford, we offer live entertainment throughout the year for your enjoyment. There is ample parking at the rear and a large garden as well as a huge patio area with an equally huge, heated parasol. A quick pint, a family get together or a week's holiday - whatever the occasion ...We look forward to welcoming you.
Frendly staff room is average stayed in better and worse. Had room at front, a tad noisy i exepted noise from traffic and from people sitting outside but the main door was very noisy every time some one went in or out. Room average tea and coffee tv etc bathroom was down hall and was private to room Evening meal was good at a reasonable price. The only dislike was room very warm hard to sleep in that heat
