Glass Blowing Studio Watch Glass being made right before your eyes! Attached Gallery / Gift shop Attached Farmers Market with West Virginia Produce and Foods.
We were certainly very impressed with the presentation by the owners of the complete glass making process that included pulling the raw glass from the furnace to adding color to glass and finally making finished products. The presentation by the father/son owner team included the actual glass making process with audience interaction and a history of glass making in Weston area. It was a very pleasant and informational presentation. This is a family owned business and everyone that I encountered was very knowledgeable and pleasant. There was a gift shop that had beautiful handmade glass products that could be purchased. We purchased several of their lighted Christmas tree ornaments which are beautiful on our tree. My wife liked the glass earrings and we purchased a couple of sets of these. I would recommend anyone that is the Weston, WV area stop in and visit this business.

More European castle than American hospital, this former insane asylum offers historic and paranormal tours six days a week from April through October. Full Museum & Patient Art Gallery entry is included with your tour purchase. This Gothic National Historic Landmark holds 130 years of American history's dark side.
My husband and I were passing through Weston and decided to tour the asylum. We did the four floors historic tour with Steven as our guide. We learned a plethora of information on the history of the asylum, the architecture, and the restoration process. Steven was a great guide! We enjoyed our afternoon and would love to return for the other tours and events!

Visit the Museum of American Glass in West Virginia to see a huge collection of brilliant colored and sparkling crystal glass by dozens of American manufacturers from 1860 to the present. We currently have around 20,000 items on display, including the 2nd largest collection of Steuben art glass in the world, the National Marble Museum, and our Lady Jane stained glass doll house. We have a self guided tour available, and a research library with over 1,500 books. Please call in advance to schedule a guided tour for large groups.
My cousin and I are glass "nuts" and this place met all of our expectations. Their collection of Carnival Glass (my passion) was mind boggling. It was interesting to see the many glass factories that used to be in West Virginia. Some I had never...MoreHi! We are so glad you had a great time at our museum. Thank you for the review. Please stop back by!

We visited this winery while in Weston. We had heard from a family member of ours that their sherry was excellent. We had a not-so-good experience. We parked and in the patio area were sort of greeted by a couple of ladies. They talked about having this bus-load of people who had just been there and who ate pizza and bought a lot of wine. But they didn't seem very interested in us or making our experience special. We wanted to taste wine and buy some (if we liked it). We finally were taken inside, and sort of had to find our way to the tasting counter. The lists of wine were put in front of us: names and no descriptions past white/red/blush and sweetness level. The lady who served us didn't seem to know anything about the wine (types of grapes etc.). We had to ask about the sherry, which we saw on the counter but was not on the list. We did like the wine, but apparently had bad timing for our visit. We bought several bottles of wine.

If you love regional history, old homes and mills, then you must visit this area. Jackson's Mill has an interesting history.
You start off at the store where you can buy goods and pay for your tour. The first part of the tour is self guided as you explore the two old homes on site. Then you make your way to the barn that houses an old one-horse open sleigh, wagons and other items. From there you are met by a guide who will tell you more of the history and show you around Jackson Mill. Then on to the blacksmith for more interesting stories of the workings of his shop. From there, you can watch how the mill is ground and explore all levels of the old mill. Ask any questions, the staff were very friendly.
It was a pleasant trip into the rich history of WV's past.
The most expensive tickets were $6 per adult. So, not a bad price for a leisurely tour. The drive up was beautiful with all the changing leaves. Nice day trip.

Bill gave us a personal tour of the museum. He was very informative, and shared tons of personal stories of local people that had pictures and uniforms displayed there. The displays covered all the wars from WWI thru present day.

Saw some of the glass items and a flyer about the shop in the gift shop at the Stonewall Resort and decided to visit the glass shop.
Talked with the owner/artesian for 45minutes and watched several items made. Amazing to watch the artist work. Beautiful items in the shop. Time well spent. Must see.

I have visited there a couple times, but have never bought anything because of how high the prices are. They do have alot of unique antiques, but I have seen and even bought some of the same stuff from 1/4 to 1/2 of the prices they had. The lady that owns it is very nice though.
