The village cluster of Ubud is the ideal place to try a famed Balinese massage and soak up the ambiance of one of Asia’s top spa destinations. Acupressure, reflexology, stretching and aromatherapy star in the island's distinctively firm massage treatments. Ubud is also the vivacious center of Bali’s arts scene, home to a small treasure trove of museums and galleries. Monkey around at nearby nature reserve Monkey Forest Park, home to hundreds of mischievous long-tailed macaques. Don’t miss the valley of tomb cloisters at Gunung Kawi.

In this unusual place of worship, mischievous simians throng among sacred temples and lush greenery.
It was calming to walk among the coolness of the forest and watch the monkeys who fearlessly approach visitors for food. Glad that they restrict this to bananas, but the clever chaps still go for anything shiny like water bottles and sunscreen tubes! If you observe all the rules of the sanctuary, the monkeys don't bother you at all.

Professional Bali driver and transport service for your vacation in Bali.
The guide was extremely knowledgable and took us to very interesting places. I would not recommend paying to see The Barong and Kris Dance Group - we waled out halfway through it. However the temples he took us to were excellent, particularly one where people walk through very cold water in order to get blessed by the gods. The seaside temple at Tanah Lot is well worth visiting. If you visit the temple where there are monkeys roaming around, hang onto all your possessions because the moneys are aggressive and will grab items from you if you are not vigilant.

Just 20 minutes from Ubud, our 4.9 Acre compound features a luxury jewelry workshop, where each piece is crafted by hand using ancient jewelry making techniques passed down from the descendants of the goldsmiths from the royal courts of Bali. Enjoy a delicious farm-to-table lunch and visit the stunning Kapal Bambu, our showroom where you can shop the ultimate in artisan-crafted luxury and the pinnacle of Balinese craftsmanship.
Absolutely stunning buildings greet you as you wander through massive bamboo pathways from room to room. Beautiful arrangements of flowers as well as stunning jewellery. Very knowledgeable staff who go out of their way to attend to you. Of course the jewellery is stunning as well! Love the ethos of all the staff dining together. Just so worth a visit.

And unjustifiably so....
The home of 1000 masks and 4000 puppets of different origins that are perfectly kept is astounding and well worth a visit. The Gardens surrounding the Houses are a treat to the eyes.
I urge you to make the detour for a visit when in Bali.

This was more than just a cycling tour, but a wonderful experience with local guide Mus who not only takes you on out of the way farm/jungle/rice field cycling treks, but also welcomes you into his family home and gives fantastic insight into local culture. The tour ends with a delicious Balinese home cooked meal. I would highly recommend this tour for the real Bali experience with a genuinely lovely local guide. I’m not an experienced cyclist however I found this easy as it was mostly downhill.

Join us for a sunrise trek to the summit of Mt.Batur (1717 meters) and experience the awesome beauty of an active volcano. Trekking in the cool, early morning darkness (torches, hiking sticks and wet weather gear supplied, if needed), we begin the one to two hour ascent to arrive in time to witness a glorious sunrise and experience the stunning morning views of the surrounding crater.
We had looked forward to this trip and were severely let down. In fact we nearly didn't make it to the first stop- The driver drove at a reckless pace and almost rolled the van trying to avoid a motorcyclist. We had already had several other drivers during our stay in Bali and all drove carefully and safely. Not this driver!
The first stop for breakfast was filthy with flies all over the food, and not much on offer either!
Second stop was a " coffee Plantation" - which was below ordinary and was just an excuse to try and push their merchandise onto us.
NB the roads are poor for cycling, and the tour ran almost 1 and a half hours late. So for being away for 9 hours you only spend 2 hours cycling
We've experienced so much better in Bali- this was such a disappointment
