THE CULTURAL HERITAGE TRAIL starts in the centre of Fyresdal by the museum in oyskogen. You can choose whether to do the entire trail (Folkestadbyen + the circuit via Saukro and Bryggjeparken) or just one of the loops. The whole trip takes just under one hour at a leisurely pace. No special footwear or level of fitness is required – the tour is suitable for both families with children and elderly people. Most of the trail is suitable for wheelchair users.

The museum has buildings and artefacts dated back to the middle ages, and aims to bring to life the colourful history of Fyresdal. In the summer season the old buildings are open every day. There is no guide at the musuem, but guided tours for groups of 10 persons or more can be submitted from the Fyresdal tourist information office or West Telemark Museum.
The artist Henrik Sorensen came to Vinje to paint every summer from 1927 to 1961. In memory of him, a distinctive gallery has been built of natural stone at the entrance to the Stoylsdalen valley, in the middle of the painters' landscape. The gallery contains of 40 paintings by Henrik Sorensen and 25 paintings by Harald Kihle. Sorensen and Kihle both worked and lived together a lot in Smorklepp. Outside the main season the museum is open for groups on request, contact Vest-Telemark Museum.
RUSSVASSDAMMEN Russvassdammen in Borggrend is one of the most impressing timber floating dam were the wood are restored. At the same time the vegetation close to the dam is removed so that the dam can be seen in the terrain. By the main road, to the valley of Borggrend, you will find an information sign, were there is a marked trail to the dam. By the dam you will find a second information sign that inform you about the timber floating. Across the dam, you may continue your trip on a marked trail to a road. Following this southwards you will return to Borggrendsvegen and then walk back to the parking place. The whole round-trip is about1.5 km. You can use ordinary jogging shoes.
