I have known the owner of this Seneca Rocks, WV based rock climbing guiding company (Tom Cecil) for 15 years now and everything Tom and his highly proficient and skilled guides do is top notch. Well on this particular adventure I was taking my annual winter climbing pilgrimage to Joshua Tree, CA and it just so happens Tom and his guides were setting up shop out there for the winter months. Without hesitation I contacted Tom and gave him my dates of wanting to climb while I was on my southern CA leg of my climbing trip and he got it all squared away. I climbed with Tori in Joshua Tree for 2 full days before I set my wheels north towards the eastern Sierra’s. I’ve known Tori for about 4 years now and have climbed with her at Seneca several times in the past including the 2019 season. The stoke and excitement level Tori brings to the rock is immeasurable. The positive and fun outlook she has in her profession of guiding is borderline addicting. I brought a list of “bucket list” routes I wanted to get on while in JTree and we hit all of them. Tori gave me a catch on every single route instilling confidence on my gear placements and movement over the rock. We went over refreshers such as rescue scenarios and different anchor systems in between climbing routes As an AMGA certified guide myself at one time, I may be a bit biased but I would highly encourage you to seek qualified instruction and guiding through Seneca Rock Mountain guides anywhere they may be working! Get out and climb! Things are cooler looking from higher up! Mike P.

Tourist center for Seneca Rocks that offers gift shop, classrooms, art dislays, and a small, indoor rock climbing wall for beginners.
We visited the Discovery Center for the first time last weekend. It had a number of displays and a very interesting moving about soldiers training for mountain climbing back in the 40's. I had not known that that happened. Would stop there again.

This park is best known for it's rocky cliffs: a great place for rock climbing.
My husband and I hiked up to Seneca Rocks. The park was easy to find and there seemed to be plenty of parking. There are restrooms available, although you should bring your own paper and hand sanitizer in case they are out. There are lots of picnic tables and grassy areas to enjoy nature and a view of the rocks. You can also go down by the river for a dip in the water. The hike up is steep, it's a bit over a mile, I'd say it us about an hour to climb up. There is an observation deck and you are able to hike up on the rocks at your own risk. You can climb out quite a bit before it gets scary/dangerous. Definitely recommend stopping by if you are in the area.

We had an absolute blast on our ride to the top of Seneca with Bubba and Tiffany. My two girls, ages 12 and 10, had never ridden an horse before and neither had my husband. All three of them were smiles from ear to ear the whole entire time!! We will for sure be returning to do this again!!

Forget the cares of the world and take the plunge into this cavern. Pleasant and calmly accommodating staff, we were running close to the end of day tour times and they were great at fitting us in. Don't bring a stroller, but the baby in our group fit right in with a front pack carrier. Some steeper steps, a few typical cave wet spots, and enough scenery and formations to make this a really fun adventure. Our guide was full of information and did a great job answering questions. The air in this cavern was oddly fresh for a cavern tour. The gift shop was beautiful and filled with everything I wanted, and the architecture was mountainy delicious. Well taken care of. We'll go back for the fun of it- the drive there is fantastic and there are many Civil War Trail markers on the way. Plenty of rustic lodging on site and nearby if you choose. Do it.

If you want a authentic roadside general store experience this is the place to go. Gas and basic foods along with a little quirk!
