Site of Arkansas’s first post office, courthouse and land office. Davidsonville faded away close to 15 years after being established in 1815. A park with camping, lake and river fishing, trails, pavilions, playgrounds and picnic areas surrounds Trappers Lake. The visitor center features a replica 1820’s hunter-trapper flatboat, interactive virtual tour of the historic town, and exhibits that explore the history of Davidsonville and life on the Arkansas frontier. The campground has 20 (12 water, 50-amp electric, sewer and 8 water, 50-amp electric) campsites.
The staff has done a great job preserving history through recreating the flat bottom boat that you can walk onto to see what life would be like on the river to the artifacts that were recovered during excavations. We enjoyed walking through the village and imagining what it would be like to live there. Teresa was very friendly and a joy to visit with.
Snow Country Outfitters spring snow goose hunts are run every spring in Arkansas, Mississippi, Missouri, and South Dakota. The spring snow goose migration is truly one of the most incredible experiences for a waterfowl hunter.

Baltz Lake is a nice lake on the edge of town. Whether you are fishing or picnicing you will find a great place here to do so.
