I recently brought a tour group to see Every Christmas Story Ever Told and the reunion of the three actors who had starred in it a decade earlier was amazing. Their timing was impeccable and the props, especially using the TV screens on each side of the theatre, added so much to the performance. Todd Davison pulls out all the stops when hiring actors and producing all of the fantastic plays and musicals at the Maples Rep. Actors Equity performers separate this from a community theatre. Stellar scripts with outstanding actors and directors make for worthwhile plays. It's a wonderful theatre in a revitalized downtown in Mid Missouri. It's worth the drive!

The Ten Mile Store is possibly the most authentic old time country general store in the Midwest. The 1904 structure boasts all original shelving, showcases, and signs. It is chalked full of antiques for sale, and has a full line of feeds and farms supplies for the locals.

We just drove through the park and admired the beautiful lake and the areas surrounding it. We didn't stop at the visitor center because it was closed but next time we are in the area, we plan to stop in.
