These man-made caves are located on the side of a mountain road where there is considerable construction going on to improve the area as a tourist attraction. Parking is available as are picnic tables and trash cans.
The hike up to the cave is moderately difficult, but there are places to sit along the way.
There is a rickety staircase from the path up to the cave entrance, which made us very nervous, but it was an OSHA dream compared to the inside of the cave. You have to almost crawl to make it through a short tunnel leading to the first of at least two ladders that must be climbed to access the cave system. The ladders are barely attached to the cave wall and they go straight up through a narrow opening. I was so anxious going up the first ladder that when I saw there were more I decided to call it quits for this particular cave.
If you do visit, wear some kind of scarf or covering over your nose and mouth because the inside of the cave is extremely dusty. I was blowing black dirt out of my nose for the rest of the afternoon just from being inside for 10 minutes.
Not recommended for children or elderly people.

Absolutely fascinating, most ruins in the lower valley are in pretty poor condition barring a few striking examples that stand out in the steppe! And several more hidden in the village itself! The churches at the end of the valley have extraordinary views and are quite well preserved considering their age! Take your own transport or hitchhike! (Taxis were exorbitant and buses are infrequent if existing). A bus from Konya will get you to Karaman easily enough and then head north by presumably the main road! In terms of accommodation, I saw nothing advertised but camped in sleeping bag the shelter of some ruins. That said, be careful of the local dogs! They are actually terrifying! Enjoy :)
