An award-winning brewery since 1867.
We visited Leinenkugel’s during family weekend at nearby UW-Eau Claire. We had a college student and a first grader along. The tour was good and informative. Everyone was required to wear protective eye wear when inside buildings. Some of ours were scratched enough that it was hard to see out of them.
We did a two pint tour ($10) and a five 5 oz sample tour ($5). Both provided a souvenir glass.
It’s always fun to sample a brewery’s output and see their operations.
Lots of neat stuff in the gift shop, too.

Sister and I visited Chippewa Falls for sisters' getaway this past weekend. We choose to meet in the Eau Claire/Chippewa Falls area because of all the Christmas events area has to offer.
Irvine Park is a must see when in the area over the holidays!! Truly amazing when thinks of all the work, time, effort, and labor of love this must be to put together such a large presentation! 100,000 lights are arranged in various themed displays. It is fun also to see such delight on the faces of the little ones - so awestruck with all the decorations and lights!

We really liked the way this winery is organized. The tasting process is efficient and educational, the staff well informed and the seating area out back is a nice way to enjoy a delightful glass of wine. And their distillery is next door if you're into that sort of thing. Us, we like wine and were happy we found this winery.

This flat, 100% asphalt trail is in excellent shape (smooth surface with few cracks, no holes, and little debris). The terrain is farmland, forest, and water (Lake Wissota and Old Abe Lake). Mostly you hear just natural sounds, hence peaceful. North of Jim Falls, the trail is well shaded; south of Jim Falls not so much. Food, water, and flush toilets are available in Jim Falls and Cornell. We recommend Dylan Dairy, two blocks east of the trail in Cornell. A meal and/or ice cream awaits. Look for their sign next to the trail. We did a round trip of its twenty mile length on a Sunday morning. Most people must have been in church because we did not run into many.

For the $44 spent on 1 nite stay - I expected more..... larger campsite - these are all narrow & deep, but only mowed a small portion. The rest is in a natural state for bugs, snakes, etc. The real bummer was the shower bldg. 2 stalls with curtains that are 5" too short - not to mention this is a family restroom where little boys are always dragged in. He had a good day!

Having sampled several wines, I can tell everyone that each one left a captivating taste that beckoned me to ask for a taste more of each sample. They were wonderful. With that in mind, I found out they have two retailers in the Milwaukee area. Just remember Autumn Harvest Winery and taste any of their wonderful creations. Wine lover or not, you will thoroughly enjoy your selection. Also, they offer a fine assortment of apples from their orchard. A unique part of the Winery and Orchard is a well-designed corn maze (play on words). I did not venture into it with fear it might end my wine sampling day if I were to get lost. I do look forward to my next bottle.

We rode various parts of the Chippewa Trail in the fall of 2013. The first 7 miles out of Eau Claire, WI were very nice and well surfaced. However the next 20 plus miles were difficult because although it was a paved trail, the asphalt was broken and crumbling and I got a flat tire. However, the 7 miles which started at the end of the Red Cedar Trail to Durand was excellent and beautiful. I would, therefore, recommend taking the Red Cedar Trail to the junction with Chippewa River Trail and then going towards Durand. This trip would be about 42 miles round trip.

A museum of local industry and technology interesting to out-of-towners? Yes, it was.
I think the enthusiasm and knowledge of the tour guide made our experience that much better.
We learned not only about the successful businesses and industries of Chippewa Falls, WI but also about the people behind their successes. There are not a lot of industries featured, but what's there is thoroughly examined.
They have exhibits for Darley fire-fighting equipment, Cray supercomputers, Mason Company, Leinenkugel's brewery, Hubbard Scientific, Kell Container & Great Northern Corp. and a local man's huge collection of lead toy soldiers and US military uniform insignias.
They ask for a $5 donation for adults. Located in Chippewa Falls, WI they are open Thursday - Saturday from 10 to 3. They share a building with the local Boys and Girls Club. Parking is on the side of their building.
