My daughter had her wedding in the Chapel and the reception in the Apple Shed. She bought all the table clothes, napkins, dinnerware, candles, lamps and centerpieces and we decorated it the day before. It was magical with all the candles(mechanical) lit. With the windows opened, it cooled off nicely. We were VERY PLEASED! The music and dancing was outside under a tent.

Grand Mesa is the largest, flat-topped mountain in the world, spanning 500 square miles and rising between 5,000 feet and 11,237 feet of elevation. The top of the Grand Mesa is a layer of basalt poured by lava approximately 10 million years ago which has protected the mesa from the erosion suffered by surrounding sedimentary rocks.
We took this drive from Palisades and on our way to Montrose. What gorgeous scenery! Breathtaking. Take your time and enjoy the view!

Some friends had told us about the Apple Shed so we made a point of visiting. The art work is beautiful and covers a large variety of subjects. There are many artists who have their works displayed in this gallery so if you need some art representing the southwest or other places in western Colorado, you can probably find it here. There is also a wine tasting area in the Apple Shed. The wines for tasting have won lots of medals at the Finger Lake and San Francisco competitions. We left with six bottles of wine a lovely print of golden aspen leaves on fresh snow and look forward to visiting The Apple Shed again on our next trip.
