Board Curiosity at Carnlough Harbour steps for short excursions around the incredibly beautiful Causeway Coast in Northern Ireland. Trips can include excursions across the Bay to the Black Rock, or northerly, passing Tommy's Port to Ringfad, the site of The Enterprise of Lynn, a West Indianman, foundered in 1827 with a cargo of gold and silver coins, yet to be discovered! You'll also be able to walk the harbour steps where Arya Stark, from hit series Game of Thrones, went for a dip! Longer charter trips are available by request. Please get in touch for more details.

I visited the Waterfall on New Year's Day with family and friends. Being NYD it was quite crowded but this added to the atmosphere. There was a good mix of ages there, from 18-80. On this occasion there was live music from 2-8, followed by a disco. The bar has entertainment every Saturday and Sunday. The pool room is bedecked in Celtic regalia

In the seaside village of Carnlough you can find the beginning of a walking trail which takes you from the middle of the village all the way to an area known as the Gortin Glen and further still to the Cranny Falls. The path follows the old railway line that used to feed the harbour area with the rich mineral stones from the Gortin Quarry. At the end of the main path there is an old Stone Building and a path that lead up to the quarry and to the Viewpoint. From the Viewpoint you will see panoramic views of Carnlough village and the Irish sea which is perfect for a photo or 2. From the main path you can then follow it to a crossroads which will eventually lead you to Cranny Falls waterfall. The Waterfall is a local spectacle and the walk along the river with the wildflowers on either side is an enjoyable and maybe if you are lucky you can also spot a native Red Squirrel, but you have to be really lucky for that.

Lovely plaque in the beautiful historic stone harbour in Carnlough village in County Antrim. The plaque commorates Paddy the pigeon who received the Dickin Medal for services in the Royal Airforce (RAF) as an important message carrying pigeon during the Normandy Landings in WWII. The Pigeon was originally trained by Andrew Hughes JP at RAF Ballykelly who originates from Carnlough.
