Afton is a town in southwest Ottawa County, Oklahoma, United States. The population was 1,049 as of the 2010 census, with population growth stemming from the near abandonment of nearby towns of Cardin and Picher because of ground contamination sites by local mining quarries. The town may have been named for the Scottish River Afton.

We went to the winery because my sisters love wine. Val was eating lunch when we arrived but quickly finished up to give us a wine tasting. Val gave us a brief history of the winery and how he got into the business. Val lived a very colorful life and it was fun listening to his stories about his life. Val is very knowledgeable about wine and shared lots of useful information. I loved listening to him tell us how he made the wines and came up with the names and flavors. We sampled 4 types of wine and enjoyed most of them. The tasting was free. We ended up buying 3 of the varieties that we sampled. All were very good.

Automotive artwork and 1000's of photographs and auto memorabilia displayed throughout the ultra modern museum.
We were on our way back from Texas and had some extra time. We picked up our oldest son from Springfield Mo. When we got there, Mrs Starbird was at the counter. We visited with her for a while and she was very pleasant. As I was walking around admiring the cars, my wife came up to me and told me he was here. When I asked who, She said him. Mr Starbird had stopped in to talk to his wife about his doctor visit. I got to talk with him for about 45 minutes. I grew up building models of some of the cars on display. Mr Starbird signed his book for me. He is very down to earth and easy going. Needless to say, I had a fantastic time seeing the cars and getting to meet him in person. Thank you Mr and Mrs Starbird. We were there in July of 2019.

The Packard Museum is permanently closed. And new owners are not open to public. Was once a car place but no more. And new owners would appreciate people stop walking in. There are signs that say no trespassing keep out for a reason. So on your adventure on route 66 this is no longer a stop. But believe me that are doing good things just won't be open to the public.

We are a small rustic BBQ and Burger joint. Come enjoy the laid back environment and some all wood smoked, hand rubbed meats or juicy hand pattied burgers. We are on route 66 on the east side of our small little town.
We read the reviews and decided to give it a try. It was a nice day so we sat outside and enjoyed the weather and fresh air. We ordered a 1/2# burger, fried pickles, sweet potato fries and a nothing special, which we ordered with pulled pork. All the food was amazing and tasty. I especially enjoyed the flavor of the pulled pork. They adopted a stray cat in February, he was the most well behaved cat, he would sit outside the door of the restaurant and never once tried to enter, even though the door was open, he also never begged for food. We did give him some water and he seemed happy about that.
