Our family of four had a good time on the standard tour with Hella Horse Rental this afternoon. The operation is well run, the horses were in good shape and the guide was solid. Very convenient access (right off the Ring Road just south of Hella), super easy to find. We recommend this activity and this business!

MudShark is a small adventure and outdoors company that operates from Hella in South Iceland. We offer private guided tours in South Iceland either tailor-made or prepackaged. Super Jeep tours to Landmannalaugar or Thorsmork on our Land Rover Defender are our most popular tours. We also organize short fishing trips to highland lakes close to Landmannalaugar. Another tour that is only offered by MudShark tours is an educational eco tour on the state of ecosystems of Iceland, degradation and ecological restoration with a PhD botanist (all year). In winter, we can take you on a Northern lights hunting tour into the mountains. Lastly we offer a relaxed 2 hr. walk-about in Hella village, the hometown of MudShark's owner (all year). In our tours, experienced guides pick you up at hotels in the Hella-Hvolsvollur region and take you touring.

Incredible and spectacular waterfalls near the main road 1. Easy to get there, beautiful waterfall and the most amazing part is that you can walk right behind the waterfall. You can go around the waterfall, but be careful about slippery rocks and also be sure you're prepared. Some raincoat is an good idea, otherwise, you'll probably end up more or less wet from head to toes. The most interesting part of this waterfall is you can go behind the waterfall and see the falling water from there. If you are lucky enough, you'll get to see the rainbow. No trip along Iceland’s southern coast is complete without stopping at at least one of the stunning waterfalls that can be found right off the side of the road. Skogafoss and Seljalandsfoss are two of the most popular falls in all of Iceland This gorgeous waterfall is definitely impressive.

Hestheimar is a horse farm located in South Iceland between the towns: Selfoss and Hella - only 3 km from the ring road and 1 hour's drive from Reykjavik. Hestheimar offers 1-5 hours riding tours in the astonishing nature surrounding the farm. Our horses are well educated and we have horses for both beginners and experienced riders. All Hestheimar's riding tours are private and we specialise in rides for small groups - but we also have the capacity to welcome bigger groups. Departure times depend upon our guests' wishes, we are very flexible. We provide helmets and you will have a chance to get to know your horse in our riding hall before we leave for our ride - riding instructions will be provided if needed. In the winter season we offer our visitors coffee, tea or hot chocolate in our cozy stable after the ride. Plenty of toilettes are on the premises. Hestheimar offers riding tours all year - we look forward to hear from you!

At Keldur there is an old turf farm which, despite its age, is one of the largest preserved turf farms in south Iceland. The wooden frame of the hut is characteristic of Roman style. From the hut there is an underground tunnel thought to date from the 12th or 13th century and was probably built during a time of conflict. In addition to these, several outhouses have been preserved. Open daily from June 1st - August 30th from 10:00-18:00.
Beautiful church and surrounded by breath taking beauty, black beach is breath taking and I’ve used that word so many times on this trip????????❤️
