Das Museum dokumentiert die Besiedelung der Gegend durch deutsche Kolonisten im 19. Jahrhundert.
The museum comprises of reconstructions of buildings that would have been used by the German settlers who lived here - with interpretation in Spanish, English and German. The buildings are set in beautiful gardens.

Somos un escenario de clase mundial y una escuela artística abierta a la comunidad. Un ejemplo único de desarrollo, integración y descentralización.
The 'Teatro' in Frutillar Bajo is a stunningly beautiful building that expects all the attention it gets. If you happen to be anywhere in the area and can see a concert (or just peek around inside), do so. The acoustics truly are world class, and Bec and I were fortunate enough to experience a free symphony show; this can typically be something one of us would doze off during or lose interest in and quietly leave, but not here! Loved it.

We really lucked into hearing a very local band (accordion and guitar) playing on the pier with dancing. We were on a private tour, so we took as long as we wanted, and walked the beach. Lovely sunny day!
