The Wellington County Museum and Archives is housed in the earliest surviving example of a Poor House (later called the House of Industry) in Canada which was built in 1877. Now a National Historic Site, the Museum houses 2 floors of exhibits which tell the stories of Wellington County's people, places and events. The Archives is a state of the art, award winning facility to research local, national and international records.

The 47 kilometre (29 mile) Elora Cataract Trailway links the Grand and Credit watersheds and follows the old Canadian Pacific railroad bed. It runs through rolling countryside east of Elora, through the historic community of Fergus and past Belwood Lake to the Forks of Credit Provincial Park at Cataract. The Grand River Conservation Authority and the Credit Valley Conservation Authority own the trail.
Normally too crowded and too warm in the summer, the fall foliage makes the bike trip great in the fall, and certainly less boring. An easy trail, well maintained and easy to do with any bike. Limited attractions on the course

Elora Gorge is a nice place to visit. We went for a day trip, we went for all three trails, it’s amazing to see natural formations, very nice view of Gorge from top. Will do river tubing for sure next time, this time we were not prepared n didn’t have swimsuits with us. It has a nice splash pad n picnic area to enjoy.

Elora gorge usually gets the majority of the tourists and it’s beautiful, and fun.. but it’s cousin, elora quarry is a beautiful conservation area as well, with a beach and swimming in the quarry!! Imagine 100 foot cliffs on three sides of you, gorgeous. Usually the water is a gorgeous blue but it’s rained for days for it was a mid cloudy which is expected . The walk to the beach is five minutes and nice. The beach itself probably holds 300 people even though they say max capacity is 1300.. so get there early for a prime spot. Water is usually nice, it was a bit cool when we went after the rain which is expected . Washrooms and changerooms are essentially one room outhouses, warning you now!!! Good swimming , with a nice beach!! With absolutely gorgeous views in the old quarry! There is a reason the park is used in movies!!!

Fantastic little creative town, lots of arts crafts galleries and interesting collectables stores. Elora offers a great option for a day trip or stay longer and enjoy adventure tourism, glassblowing, pottery making and much more.
