The Museum of Western Art, formerly the Cowboy Artist of America Museum, is open Tuesday - Saturday 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. It is located 65 miles NW of San Antonio just off I-10, and is a short drive from downtown Kerrville. Larger-than-life style western bronzes dot the exterior grounds. There are several galleries inside (allow 90 minutes to go through), showcasing artwork by craftsmen and women who have devoted their artistic career to preserving the legends of the American West. Young children will enjoy the Journey West Children's Gallery, a hands-on interpretive experience of life on a wagon train. A small museum store sells prints and original art done by local artists along with other western memorabilia. An extensive western research library is on site as well. An annual art sale and exhibition is held each fall.
Beautiful museum. Enjoyed special exhibit of artist. Staff very helpful. Highly recommend while in area.

Riverside Nature Center is a non for profit, member supported organization founded in 1989. The nature center boasts a unique and diverse Texas Native Arboretum, native meadow and pollinator garden, compost demonstration, rainwater harvesting, indoor exhibits, workshops, youth activities and a gift shop. Come visit us at 150 Francisco Lemos St. at the confluence of the Guadalupe River and Town Creek.
Riverside Nature Center currently has a great interactive exhibit and related activities about birds in our lives. Easy to read and understand information presented in a very engaging and professional exhibit is a hit with families of all ages. Wildflowers and tree buds are starting to bud and pop on the on-site nature trail which is also a starting point for the Kerrville Guadalupe River walk. On site staff are friendly, helpuful and there to answer your questions on a large range of topics. Don't forget to check in in Schucks the corn snake and the resident Mexican Red-rump Tarantula.

Stand inside the 7' center chamber of the 77'7" tall, $2,000,000 Resurrection cross located on the 1930' mountain in the heart of the Texas Hill Country. "The Empty Cross" has been described as the most scripturally symbolic cross ever created. Experience God's presence, love, power, mercy, forgiveness and miracles as you read through the plaques affixed to the inside walls of the magnificent cross. The 77’ Kerrville Cross is the centerpiece of The Sculpture Prayer Garden still being developed as a gift to the community and to the Kingdom of God. The admission to experience this unique attraction is FREE. Hours open to the public: 6 AM to 12 Midnight; Open All Year!
