The best place for Meditation. Kasar Devi is one of the only three places on Earth including Machu Picchu in Peru and Stone Henge in England to best the strongest geo-magnetic field which is believed to be the best for meditation. Swami Vivekanada Ji also visited the place and started his spiritual journey from here. If you visit Almora, visit Kasar Devi for sure, it's just 13 Km from Almora. If you are a history buff you LL really like this small museum. The 9-13th century idols from jageshwar dham have been placed here You LL see beautiful, intricately carved stone statues which will leave you mesmerised. It hardly takes 20-30 min to complete the tour but definitely worth it.

Zero Point

Rain gear and a local guide May be required . Simple walkable trail in the moist mossy tall trees . Verdant meadows, hidden pathways , abundant birds, camouflaged mammals add to the pristine beauty. Two KMVN / TRH motel kinda places , though the Khali Estate is evidently the upscale pride of the place to stay. The Zero point needs maintenance , except ram- shackled dustbins there are no common signages or washrooms which is somewhat unnerving for Senior Citizens while trekking .However this in no way detracts from the beauty of the place .... the view of the sailing clouds in the azure skies wilt the glistening silvery horizon of the Himalyan ranges is breathtaking heavenly.
