The population was 197,899 at the 2010 census, and was estimated to have increased to 199,963 by July 2013.

The Paramount is a fabulous theater - beautiful decor, comfortable seats and top notch productions. We recently saw “The Secret of My Success.” The acting, dancing and singing, as well as the set, were all first-rate. We couldn’t have enjoyed it more. Come early and grab a bite to eat (tasty hot dogs, cookies, etc.) and drink. They have a wide selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, which you can take to your seat.

The Aurora Regional Fire Museum is located in Aurora's old Central Fire Station. The museum is open to the public regular hours, and features a variety of interactive exhibits designed to educate and entertain children, families, and firefighters.The museum's primary exhibit, "Getting There, Getting Water, Getting Rescued" traces the evolution of the tools and technology used by firefighters. Visitors can pass a leather fire bucket from the early 1800s. See the horse stalls and the "real" fire horses. Discover what was found under the floor boards of the old central fire station. Marvel at the strange looking Vajen-Bader smoke mask. See and hear how modern fire apparatus clears the streets with sirens, air horns, and devices that change traffic lights green. Watch vintage film clips of firefighters and fire engines on one of five video touch-screens. All this in addition to five pieces of fire apparatus on display in a fully restored 1894 fire station.

Great for kids of all ages. New exhibit's open quite regularly, great story's of the men/hero's who put their lives on the line for the great city we live in.

Escape Strategy is a real life interactive escape from a room game. The participants determine the outcome of each game. There are up to 6 participants in each event, so get ready to work together! The more you share the better your chances of escape! Communication is essential and must be used. Remember, you only have 60 minutes to escape!

We had a group of 16 at Escape Strategy for a team-building event. Everyone had a great time! Several of our group told me afterward they weren't looking forward to the escape room activity but ended up loving it. The host was outstanding!

If you want to go out for some time in the Aurora downtown area, Hollywood casino is a place that you’ll want to stop in. From a greeting from security on the way in, to the time you leave, the staff of Hollywood Casino definitely strive to ensure a great experience. The casino is currently social distanced as it should, they have put in a number of changes to make sure everyone still has a great time. Sports book has been added and is very accessible in the casino. Go downtown Aurora and checkout the casino among other local businesses and restaurants and have a great time!
