St Albans /sənt ˈɔːlbənz/, /seɪn ... / is a city in Hertfordshire, England, and the major urban area in the City and District of St Albans. It lies east of Hemel Hempstead and west of Hatfield, about 20 miles (32 km) north-northwest of central London, 8 miles (13 km) southwest of Welwyn Garden City and 11 miles (18 km) south-southeast of Luton. St Albans was the first major town on the old Roman road of Watling Street for travellers heading north, and it became the Roman city of Verulamium. It is a historic market town and is now a dormitory town within the London commuter belt and the Greater London Built-up Area.

Re-joined as a member last September after some health issues I had needed to deal with. I came back post an amazing refurbishment!! Stunning! The team at Cottonmill spa too have been amazing! - so supportive and helpful!! I’m working with trainer, Jack, who has really taken the time to understand my rehabilitation needs and is helping me to work towards achieving my health and fitness goals! He has a real passion for helping clients and really knows his stuff as they say!!! Jack, you are a real asset to Cottonmill and the Sopwell House team! At the spa reception it’s always lovely to be so warmly greeted by the team there too -especially Kia and Maria who I have got to know well now. treatments are devine! All in all I would highly recommend the team and this lovely spa! ????????

Whow the benefits so good. First time in a few years no cold/cough/sore throat in January so immune system improved. Aches and pains improved as easier to move in the morning! Follow the cryotherapy with a massage and/or facial and you feel a million dollars. Thank you to all the staff at Champneys Beauty House. Get the app on your phone and the offers are incredible including free gifts.

1st visit as a spa day package. Staff very nice and the Swedish massage was excellent. We had been offered either lunch or afternoon tea . We chose lunch but it was pre packaged food so wish we had the afternoon tea. We weren’t offered any further treatment. Would have liked something else. We were able to use the saunas which were nice and relaxing . Cafe closed at 3 so no chance of a tea or coffee. Very small changing rooms no opportunity for privacy . Still managed to enjoy in spite of all this
