Many choose the Micronesian volcanic island of Saipan to tour the famous Grotto, an underwater limestone cavern plummeting seventy feet at its deepest point. The Grotto is home to a city of sea life, including turtles, coral, and reef sharks. Land-lovers can find satisfaction in the Garapan Street market, a display of Saipan's unique food and craft tradition, or the World War II battlefields, a visual history of the Battle of Saipan.

Suicide Cliff is at the top of a stunning cliff and is one of the sites in Marpi Point National Historical landmark. The other sites include The Japanese Peace Memorial, The Korean Peace Memorial and Banzai Cliff. Most people (including me) stop first at Banzai Cliff, then the Peace Memorials and then make their way to the top of the cliff to see Suicide Cliff because that's the order they're situated along the road coming from Garapan. What I didn't understand until I was leaving Suicide Cliff and driving back down the road past the Memorials is that the Memorials are at the base of Suicide Cliff and then Banzai Cliff is not far away. When I was walking through the memorials I kept taking videos of the cliff wall because it really is a striking and beautiful sight to see those memorials nestled alongside the cliff. What I didn't yet know that I was taking videos from the bottom of suicide cliff. is So much memoriam one place. If you go to Saipan, take my advice and start this cluster of landmarks at the top of Suicide Cliff.
