Melville Monument

Reviewed By robertsQ8280RT

It is quite a strenuous walk up to the monument from the Deil’s Cauldron across the road but it is well worth the walk. The views across Strathearn in both directions are simply stunning. Heading off the summit northwards gives a much gentler ascent and a circular return back to Comrie.

Cultybraggan Camp

Reviewed By jilld68 - Porirua, New Zealand

Had a day to explore the area and saw the sign for this camp. Well what a fascinating place. Such history. The information boards are good and we were pleased the local businesses are able to use some of the huts. The community garden is worth wandering through. We enjoyed talking to the volunteer at the registration desk, lots of good insights into this historical site.

The Mackintosh Building

This building was designed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh at a time when he was doing his very best work. The nod towards Scottish Baronial architecture is evident in the projecting turret. The Mackintish Building can be booked for short breaks with the Landmark Trust, a charity that restores historic buildings at risk and makes them available for holidays.
