16 comfortable, well-equipped family style cottages and apartments on or very near private Cape Cod Bay beach. Linger Longer is a Cape Cod institution to which many families return year after year, some of whom have been coming for over 50 years in a row! Off-season rates available.
We stayed 3 nites here. The room was great we stayed in room 2 looking out at the beach. The weather however was bad we had gale force winds and 40 degrees. Still we didn't let that bother us. This is close to many restaurants it has a ref. and micro and all needed utensils . Would stay here again .

Our four charming waterfront cottages and apartments (converted from a B&B) are decorated according to different themes. We are perfect for the active family, reunions and wedding groups, pet owners (2 cottages and 1 apt. are pet friendly), couples looking for a getaway, or those just out to relax. The apartments can be opened up to permit families or groups to go back & forth. With kitchenettes, complimentary canoes and kayaks, and private decks equipped with Weber gas grills and deck furniture, life is easy. Anchorage on the Cove offers hospitality, advice and special promotions. Come visit our special corner of Cape Cod!
We rented for 3 weeks. When we sat on the sofa and loveseat we sunk to the floor. Initially the toaster didn’t toast and I blew a fuse using hairdryer that they left in upstairs bath. Went to open a can and there was no can opener. The kitchen was supposed to be equipped for 5 people but really wasn’t. The management co was wonderful and replace the toaster and upon our suggestion brought plywood for the sofas. The place is directly on rte 6 so you took you life in your hands leaving the driveway. I could go on and on. Del Mar was great but there was just so much that was in their control.

Loved our stay at the Watkins Cottage in Harbor Village. A lovely well-appointed 2-bedroom cottage with everything you need for an enjoyable beach holiday. A beautiful, unobstructed lagoon/ocean view, with fresh breezes and no traffic noise ever. For humid days, the air conditioning works very well. BBQ for outdoor living, full kitchen with dishwasher for family meals. Minutes to Main Street Hyannis, shopping, restaurants, the harbour - everything you need is right here. You'll have to force yourself to get out and do things because it's so relaxing. Can't wait to book next year!

Having just returned from a ten day break in Hyannis, I feel some words about cottage 6A would be appropriate. Right from the word go, Tom ( the owner) was very helpful in dealing with my booking and on arrival, after a flight from Manchester(UK) to Boston and a pleasant hour and a half drive, the impression given about the interior and facilities from previous reports was much endorsed. The master bedroom has a large very comfortable bed, whilst the second bedroom has twin beds. The bedrooms bracket a small kitchen, bathroom and lounge area. The cottage was spotless, with tastefully decorated walls, and lots of sea/ beach wall-mounted motifs. The cottage sits at the end of Sea St, which is a cul de sac, so very peaceful and quiet, with a nice view of Nantucket Sound from the deck. You are in easy driving distance of the many excellent restaurants in Hyannis, and being centrally situated on Cape Cod, visits to other areas on the Cape are very straightforward. I would thoroughly recommend this vacation cottage - it really ticks all the boxes !

Definitely recommend! What an amazing vacation! One of our best yet! Our family rented the boathouse for a one week vacation to celebrate my 40th. Our children were 8 and 10 at the time. The boathouse is situated right on the water, so the hours spent on our private deck out front of the cottage, or in the kayaks looking at sea life below was incredible. When the tide went out we could walk forever discovering "treasures". The cottage itself was meticulously clean and had all the amenities. I consider myself a clean-freak and the boathouse did not disappoint. The owner was there to greet us when we arrived and showed us around. We bumped into them a couple of times in town throughout our stay and they were very friendly and outgoing. Down-town was far enough away that you could have a quiet night on the deck, but within a 5-7 min walk to be in the heart of it. Our children had no problem walking to and from town many times a day. Tons of sights in town to check out. We walked up the way to a bike shop a couple of days and rented bikes for the day at reasonable prices. Trails galore and we'd simply pack a lunch and spend the day biking out to the dunes, or along the shore using many miles of trails and hours spent swimming in the ocean. A grocery store is close by as well and there was a fridge to store leftovers. We used the bbq many a time to whip up a quick yummy snack to enjoy on the deck with a cold beer. And my husband made my birthday dinner using the kitchen, so no worries about lack of utensils or bowls, etc. A wonderful trip, hosts, location and one that we will continue to talk about for years to come. Simply heaven on earth.

Perfectly sized "cabins" sit nestled next to each other on an old pier over Provincetown's west end harbor. Steps away from the beach or an afternoon walk. Close to the center of town, yet quiet enough for a low key vacation. Truly a magical experience.

We stayed here two years in a row now and will be returning every year. The first year we rented 3 of the houses then rented the biggest one for the second year. The kids and grand parents love every part of staying here. Farm fresh eggs, delicious maple syrup, quiet walks around the farm, fires with s'mores at night, and bbq's on the deck are some of our favorites. Bill and Norma are very friendly and easy to talk to whether it be about the history of the farm or how the syrup is made. I buy plenty of their maple syrup for my coffee every year. One of my personal favorites about staying here is its like staying in a friend's house where the owners really care about you.

Prior to 1999 Lis Sur Mer was a family compound. The cottages began to develop in 1948 as the summer refuge for an old New England family. The patriarch of the family purchased a large tract of barren waterfront property upon his return from serving in the Armed Forces during World War 2. The early structures on the property were built from the fruits of the beach. As shipwrecks, pilings and boards washed up on shore, the original owner would build one room cottages or expand them as needed. This great example of nautical recycling grew to include the use of doors and windows salvaged from the local renovation of cottages as the Cape became more gentrified. The result was a collection of three cottages that were completely unique unto themselves. The setting and the evolution of these cottages were very much in keeping with the famous ocean side "dune shacks" that were inhabited by writers and painters of Provincetown. As early as the late 1800's Provincetown, a rustic fishing village, and once a great harbor, attracted the creative minds of European and urban America. A combination of incredible light and an atmosphere of freedom of expression brought the art world to summer and in many cases settle in Provincetown/Truro. In the early eighties, a New York family in the arts, who had summered in the area for 20 years, took over the property and began to restore it with the same vision as the original owner. They continued the tradition of creating small storybook summer cottages by rebuilding with antique 18th century beams and barn board sourced from a restoration house in New Hampshire. Old doors and windows were used wherever possible. The property was designed to create privacy between the three cottages. Dunes were sculpted and extensive plantings of rose bushes, black pine, English oak and olive trees were arranged as if they had always been growing there, protecting the privacy of each cottage. The cottages were purposely designed and maintained to be old world eclectic, funky, unique, to inspire a true Old Cape Cod experience. Many antique pieces are present to add to the charm. A bed in the Beach Cottage was the owner's grandparents. The dining table in The Beach Cottage dates from 1840. Most people feel that they are in another country when they first see Lis Sur Mer and we are proud of its uniqueness. This point of view is not for everyone. Whenever you take a strong position, you are going to find those who love it and those who do not. If your idea of a vacation is an escape, this may be for you. The experience is more like living on board of a ship than in a house. It is supposed to be like that. There is great privacy, the constant sound of waves, a cool breeze at night, a view across the bay to Provincetown harbor and above you one of nature's most profound presentations of stars and universes. There are no dishwashers. These are cottages, cabins, escapes. If you desire to duplicate a high tech existence on your vacation, then this is not the place for you. This is the place for a very special need; the need to let go... Experience the timelessness of the bay, walk on the beach, reflect. A time to create the memories that are always represented in films where shingled cottages sit alone on the edge of dunes in soft sepia toned focus. It could be anytime in the collective past memory of beach cottages, dunes and timelessness. The Lis Sur Mer complex provides total privacy between the three cottages. They can be rented separately or all together for large families or couples who wish to go on vacation together but also want their privacy. We also allow pets at Lis Sur Mer, because we believe pets are a part of the family so they shouldn't be excluded from your vacation. Because this is a special property we have tried to create as much information as possible on these pages to help you decide if this experience is for you. When people rent over the internet, they create in their minds a vision that is not always what they get. We have been very fortunate over the years of renting the cottages as most everyone who visits Lis Sur Mer rebooks for the next year, they so enjoyed their stay. You may come and view the property off season if you are in the area.
I have been going to the Cape since I was a little girl. First with my family. Six of us in a tiny motel room a block away from Coast Guard Beach. It was a tight fit but we loved every second! My mother would schlep the twin stroller and lunch, my father his fishing gear. I remember eating sandy peaches but being at that beach all day was heaven! When I was older, my sister and our friends would rent a cottage. Many times we had little money for anything but we'd go to the beach all day, sit in P-Town and meet great people then have little beach parties. The 70's were the best! The Peace Corp, "hippies" and so much wonderful diversity. Then I got married. We came to the Cape for our honeymoon. He loved it as much as I did (or we'd be divorced by now!) All those years helped shape my life and although we stayed in some good places, something was missing. I dreamed of a magical cottage. Looking online I found Lis Sur Mer. I was immediately taken with the beauty. Magical, enchanting, tranquil, peaceful, breathtaking views, it looked perfect! I had been to the Cape every season but winter so I spoke to my husband. "Let's start a new tradition and go for Christmas and New Year!" We just came back. When we got there, the Beach Cottage was lit up, fire in the gas stove and classical music on the stereo. Warm, cozy and so perfect! Our Christmas tree was the tree outside. Our gift to each other, Lis Sur Mer. The inside has high ceilings and though there are all the modern conveniences, they seem hidden. Wonderful antiques and you are on a cliff looking out at the beautiful ocean! I used to spend every minute in P-Town. Now, I sit on the deck and memories flow back to me and I smile. I see my dad fishing with that pipe in his mouth, I see us playing on the beach and I see us partying in town. I read, I see my husband, we reconnect, and I know every nook and cranny of this wonderful home. I have a guardian angel who is kind in so many ways. He is a prince! It is a wooded area (with fragrant flowers in the spring and summer.) Very private but if you need something, you don't ever have to wait. This is my enchanted cottage. My sometimes boggled mind gets a perfect respite. This isn't just a cottage, t has a heart and a soul.
