The pewter foundry is a family business in which now the third generation of pewterers is at work. Although technical innovations have continuously developed in recent years, here we still work traditionally with centuries-old bronze molds, the oldest of which dates back to 1697. In October 2014, we won the Gold Prize at the 4th International Exhibition of Crafts and Culture in Tianjin in China. This exhibition is organized by the IOV World, an association connected directly to UNESCO World Heritage. Visit our small shop at historical village "De Zaanse Schans". Weather depending, free demonstrations are given here. Also a complete range of handmade products. Small groups (up to 8) can visit our studio nearby. An appointment has te be made so we can arrange the visit. For larger groups (up to 80) we have an location in Ilpendam (just 20km above Amsterdam). Here we can give a presentation of our craft and give you te oppurtunity to cast a miniature yourself. Here we also serve lunch

One of the most strikingly beautiful windmills in Zaanse Schans. Entry fee for inside museum and viewing deck was about €5 per adult. Good souvenir shop inside with friendly staff

The tour of windmill farm was booked by our tour agency, we were on a visit to Amsterdam during our honeymoon. Luckily we had got a break from the rains and wind...and we could roam around the farm freely. There are 5 major windmills which are working. One of them is free and the others charge for entry. You also have a wooden shoe making factory which has a live demo and an exhibit of various types of wooden shoes. You also can buy them if you like ! There is also a cheese factory which has various kinds of gauda cheese available for sale. A demo is also shown on the cheese making process. Apart from cheese, you also can buy organic mayo, honey etc... The farm is also a beautiful place to take pictures and enjoy with your loved ones. I would recommend to set aside 2 to 3 hours for the visit.

Walking along the Gedempte Gracht was a lovely surprise. Old and new architecture; lots of shops; and great restaurants. This along with other special places makes Zaandam high on the tourist list.
