Kristianstad (Swedish pronunciation: [krɪˈɧanːsta], older spelling Christianstad) is a city and the seat of Kristianstad Municipality, Skåne County, Sweden with 40,145 inhabitants in 2016. During the last 15 years, it has gone from a garrison town to a developed commercial city, today attracting visitors in the summertime mainly from Germany, Denmark and The Netherlands.

Linnerundan

The Linnerundan walking trail is dedicated to Carl Linnaeus who visited the wetlands around Kristianstad for more than 250 years ago. Visitors can still experience the parts of the landscape that Linnaeus described. Linnerundan is a visitor site in Kristianstads Vattenrike Biosphere Reserve.

Balsberget Och Balsbergsgrottan

Walk through unspoilt, magnificent countryside. Balsberget is a primary rock formation situated in the beautiful countryside around Lake Råbelövssjön, about 10 km north of Kristianstad. From the top, 93.7 metres above sea level, visitors can enjoy a magnificent view of the surrounding area. Two jogging tracks, 5 km and. 2.5 km long, start at the parking area to the west of the hill. Bats come to hibernate in the cave, which is part of the newly-formed Balsberg Nature Reserve and one of the largest caves in southern Sweden. The cave is open beteen 16th of April to 14th of October.

The tours are mostly on traffic-free cycle paths and low traffic roads. The tours are not signposted in the landscape!

Norra Lingenaset

The Norra Lingenäset is located in the Näsby fält Nature Reserve. It is a lush oak and hazel forest. The site is very rich in spring and summer flowers. In the woods of Norra Lingenäset the ground is covered with white, yellow and blue wood anemones and ramson in April. At the same time, an intense bird rush sounds in the woods and brown marshes and gray-hawls nest in the marshes. Norra Lingenäset is a visitor site in Kristianstads Vattenrike Biosphere Reserve.
