SHUTTLE SHACK is the only family owned and operated Bike rentals and shuttle services in Damascus VA for the VA CREEPER TRAIL Family fun for all ages.....
There are quite a few bike rental/ shuttle places in Damascus for riding the Virginia creeper trail. After reading reviews, I chose Shuttle Shack and I am glad we did. The service was great from beginning to end. Gary and his wife, the owners answered my questions and selected a great Giant bike for me. I tested it in the parking lot. The shuttle ride to Whitetop was driven cautiously to the top. I ride upfront to avoid car sickness and had no problem. I would definitely use their service again if in the area.

Connected with Creeper Trail Bike Rental by chance as we couldn’t reach the shop we normally use. These guys are awesome. Very knowledgeable, approachable, and seem to enjoy what they’re doing. We rented bikes and shuttles to the top; I think Charlie was our driver and he was great. He regaled us with info and took questions from the group. 30 minute ride up a windy road so prep for that if you gotta :) They made the process easy from picking out the bike to returning it. Will definitely visit again!

We just got back from our trip to Damascus and had a terrific time on the Creeper Trail thanks to Blue Blaze bikes. We chose Blue Blaze for our bike rental and shuttle and are so glad we did. Even though all the other companies may appear to be comparable, they are not. From booking the reservation to a safe shuttle service to Whitetop Station to well maintained bikes, every part of our rental experience was terrific. We particularly appreciated that they offered newer Trek bikes that worked perfectly. We even had a choice of a wider and more comfortable seat which I appreciated. I definitely recommend Blue Blaze and will use them again when we return.

Planned this trip only 5 days in advance and could not get a bike for Sat or Sun so we chose to extend our trip to Monday and rented a bike through the Bike Station. What a great choice! First of all, I am glad we rode on Monday when the trail was not as crowded as the weekend. Secondly, the Bike Station took care of us and went above and beyond the basics. No need to explain the details, just ask for what you need and even though they are busy, they try to accommodate. Our shuttle driver gave us a few pointers for a more pleasant bike ride, cautioned us to be careful on some of the road crossings and overall, took care of us. Especially glad we went during the fall. The leaves were turning for variations of color. The fall light through the trees was lovely. The trail ran alongside the river and crossed multiple times over wooden bridges, giving us different scenery at each crossing. Easy to stop anywhere and take your time, walk or sit on rocks, soak in the beautiful nature. Yep, good trip!

Bicycle Junction saved our family bike ride after my 11 yr old broke his arm prior to our trip. They have a special bike trailer capable of carrying him so he could ride along and we could take advantage of the unseasonably warm November day to check out the VA creeper trail. Staff were all courteous and professional and everyone was wearing masks (a big concern of ours). Thankfully the other riders on our shuttle as well as our driver took mask-wearing seriously and we had a safe, pleasant ride up to Whitetop station (even with my car sick prone children). Would definitely use this company and recommend them to others.

Located "where the trails cross", Sundog Outfitter is your outfitter for adventure on the Virginia Creeper Trail, Appalachian Trail, Iron Mountain Trail, or one of the other trails that cross in our parking lot. Daily bike rentals and trail shuttles available all year round.
We were really pleased with this choice of bike rental - there are a lot of choices! The bikes worked well, fitted us well. We took their helmets too. Their location right on the trail is a plus too. The driver up to the the top was friendly and knowledgeable. The trail is in pretty good shape. We went on a cold day and were happy to stop for hot chocolate along the way.

When we received our bikes from Adventure Damascus bicycle and outdoor Company , they also gave us a bag with tools and 2 spare intertubes and a great map with all the necessary information for telephone stations, bathrooms and the restaurant Midway. As we were enjoying our beautiful and scenic ride by the River we encountered a couple with flat tire. They had absolutely no tools no extra tires or Maps where they rented their bike. We stopped ,gave them a helping hand and used one of our intertubes to help them get on their way. When we were back from our beautiful venture we told the shopkeeper who was extremely nice that we gave away one of our intertubes. We asked if we could pay him.He said no he was just glad that we stopped to help the couple on our way down. This is a great company with safety in mind. It made our and other couples experience even better.
