Royal Cromer Golf Club

Reviewed By AndyBee - Tolleshunt Knights, United Kingdom

Sunday we played Sheringham (very scenic) and on the Monday we played Royal Cromer (which we preferred). It was a sunny morning, quite warm and moderate wind. We received a warm welcome from the Pro Shop and the pace of play was excellent (just over 3 hours for our 2-ball!). This is a "hidden" gem - a beautiful proper old fashioned golf club with a great course (more Parkland than Links) and at least 5 holes overlooking the sea\ with a sea view. We had a Seniors Roll Up group following us, and they were very quick in 4-balls and very friendly. Personally I played better on the Back 9 than the Front. I think I like the course because there are not many Par 3s - only 2 I think from memory (the 9th and 13th). Depending on the wind, a couple of Par 5s are possible to reach in 2 shots. My wife (Handicap 18) and myself (H\C 8) liked it so much that we decided to take up Country Membership. It's over 2 hours for us from Essex, but we think will be worth it. Afternoon tee time prices are good value.

East Runton Beach

Reviewed By Guido100uk - Norwich, United Kingdom

If you are in and around this part of the coast the beach here at East Runton is one you will not be disappointed by. There are cliffs so be warned don't let you children play on them. The slipway down to the beach can be classed as steep. There are a few seats at the top of the slipway if you don't want to risk the slipway the views are fantastic looking towards Cromer and the Pier.

Amazona Zoo

A great little zoo. We loved seeing all the animals up close, especially the otters and big cats. Very Covid compliant with a one way system that ensures you can socially distance while still getting a great view of all the animals. Hand sanitiser points at regular intervals. We booked for 2.15 and had plenty of time to see everything and have an ice cream before the zoo shut. We have visited before and will come again.
