Relaxing and pristine Kauai (the Garden Island) is the least commercially developed of the Hawaiian islands. Waterfalls, scenic drives and more than 60 beaches dot the landscape. Some beaches have great snorkeling, others offer child-friendly tidal pools and some are perfect for all kinds of water sports. Dry-land activities include hiking the Kalalau Trail on the Na Pali coastline, taking a day trip to Waimea Canyon and experiencing life on a sugar plantation at Grove Farm Homestead Museum.

Sashimi for starters, followed by Keoki style Ahi and seafood risotto, all in a great setting and with friendly and attentive service. As it was our anniversary dinner, we were treated to a free Hula Pie for dessert, simply delicious. Highly recommend this place when staying at Poipu

Stevenson's is the South Shore's luxury nightspot. Featuring sushi & spirits, the expansive bar offers island drinks, creative martinis, beer, wine, sake, aged scotch, cognac and port selections, all with a fabulous view. Take a seat at the 27-foot, hand crafted koa wood bar, dine at the ocean view sushi bar or or on the terrace. Open daily 5:30 pm to midnight with inventive sushi served 5:30 to 9:30pm. Located at the Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort & Spa.
We ate here as sushi is one of our favorite dinners out. We were impressed. The menu choices were great, with several specialty rolls. We particularly liked the blackrock roll (seared ahi with tempura shrimp) and shipwreck (fresh salmon, eel, avocado). Of note, they use ocean eel instead of freshwater eel (anago vs unagi), but from our perspective it was essentially the same. The drinks menu is similarly great, with some interesting twists on typical drinks. The mango martini and samurai mule were both good.
