This is my third visit to the Elmvale Zoo and this time took family members from both sides of the spectrum: 10 year old niece and my 80 year old father. Grounds were tidy and paths were like a conservation area in some places (very pretty/tranquil but could easily push a wheelchair) There are also several nice shaded rest/picnic areas. They have a great variety of animals...from lemurs to tortoises to giraffes and zebras. And if you love lemurs...you should not miss this. You can see all of their animals and take some great pics up close (unlike your big city zoos) and also get a chance to feed many of the animals. (The giraffes seem to love bananas - which they eat right out of your hands.....very cool!!). NOTE: For the safety of their animals, you have to purchase the food from the zoo - but it is very reasonable: $4 for a banana and an edible cone of pellets). They also have a food stand for visitors with standard fare (fries/poutine, hotdogs, hamburgers, grilled cheese sandwiches, onion rings, etc), All very good and reasonably priced. A pleasant 1/2 day event - with something that everyone will enjoy. Will definitely go back again and would highly recommend to anyone!
