I would echo all the positive comments below. Not only are the cave paintings fascinating, but the location with its wide views of the countryside and quiet isolation add greatly to the experience. As mentioned previously, a permit is needed from a government office in Hargeisa ($25), and an armed guard is obligatory for any travel outside the City limits (I'm sure this is more to do with local employment rather than danger) So, by the time you have your vehicle, driver, guide and guard it's not exactly a cheap excursion, but worth every dollar. Take a picnic as there are no refreshments available, and a few sweets or chocolate for the young children minding goats who will rush over to meet your vehicle as it passes.

Built specifically for Italian colonialists, this beach is the best beach Mogadishu has yet to offer, thousands of people both local and foreigners flock to escape the heat on weekends. It has beachfront resorts.
When ever I feel bored, I go to Liido beach to take deep breath and relax. This is one of the popular beaches in the country.
