We recently took our grandkids to the Delaware Otsego Audubon Sanctuary and we had a blast - from the bog walk to scoping our Monarch butterfly eggs and caterpillars, we didn't run out of places to explore!

Formerly a small airport, then and RC Flier Airport, Fortin Park has emerged to being one of the finest town parks in the county! With hangers and smaller pavilions to rent and two playgrounds, with so much open space makes this a wonderful spot for all ages!

A nice walk along lots of fun trails with really nice views everywhere you went. Honestly it was never a dull moment here. Everywhere was pretty. I was quite shocked at that, I couldn't get over the fact that everywhere you looked it was actually interesting and different. Forest, paths, stream, fields, everything. It's almost like someone made it but I don't think this area was planned. It seemed like a lot of pretty stuff just happened to be near each other and someone thought 'let's keep this place the way it is and not develop it'. Photographer's dream, really. You can walk around the entire thing in an hour or so. Bathroom not open during covid. Free parking, free entrance.

In 1996, when we moved to Oneonta, we went to Emmons Pond Bog with friends and even today, 24 years later, we love the bog to explore and enjoy a wonderful family hike! From ages 2-66 everyone was so happy with their day today!

I love the birds of all colors ans sizes, some flying freely, some walking on the ground. There are magnificent tropical butterflies in the summer. It's peaceful as well as exciting. Makes you feel like a child, in spirit. Highly recommended! Beautiful tropical butterflies in the summer, but you can get closer to the birds in the winter when there are few visitors, and some of them you can feed.
