Wyomia Tyus Olympic Park

Griffin GA built this park to honor Wyomia Tyus, two-time gold medal Olympian, 100 meters, 1964 Rome & 1968 Mexico City. She was the first woman to run the 100 meters in 11 seconds.

Heads Creek Reservoir

It is located in Spalding County just off New Salem Road and West McIntosh Road. The reservoir consists of 700 acres of property and the reservoir itself is 300 acres. This secluded reservoir is open seven days a week from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. There is no charge for this facility. The reservoir is open to fishing with certain guideliness in place to protect the reservoir and the environment.

Airport Road Park is one of the most widely used parks in the Spalding County Parks system. It features a half mile rubberized walking trail and a large play structure designed for children ages 2 to 12. The park offers a handicap accessible play area, fitness stretching stations, picnic tables and benches. Children especially enjoy climbing on the free standing dinosaurs!

Airport Road Park is a great place to exercise! It has a track that is made out of recycled tires and the track is 0.5 mile long. It is a very popular place for people who like to run and walk. In the middle of the circular track, there is a large grass area where one can play frisbee, soccer, or any other sport that needs a lot of space. There are also benches and lights all around the track! There are bathrooms and a small playground for children as well. This park is usually very safe.

Fairmont park

It is one of the community's favorite gathering places. This community center features a gymnasium plus meeting rooms and concessions. Multiple programs are enjoyed here including youth programs, school break activities, summer day camp, USDA Summer Food Program and more. The park also offers a pavilion which can be rented, a large playground, an outdoor basketball court, horseshoe pits and more.
