城下町竹田は江戸時代のキリスト教が禁止されていた時代に、藩ぐるみでキリシタンを隠していたとされます。その需要なキリシタン遺物である、サンチャゴの鐘、(伝)聖ヤコブ像のほか、キリシタン遺物が数多く展示されています。ほかにも、キリシタン洞窟礼拝堂や岡城との関係についても分かりやすく展示されています。入館は無料で休憩スペースとしても使用できます。 Hidden Christian Castle Town Taketa is said to have concealed Christian culture in the clan in the era when Christianity in the Edo period was prohibited.
