The walk through exhibits provide for an interactive experience – now also through a digital museum guide in three languages (G, E, F) featuring one knowledge tour and four game tours. Explore Switzerland’s largest 3D topographic model of Eastern Switzerland, surrounded by exhibits of the diverse fauna between Lake Constance and Ringelspitz. In the realm of the bear, there is much to learn not only about Switzerland’s native predator, the cave bear of the Wildkirchli area, but also about the busy life of ant populations. The top floor invites visitors to journey through the story of Life on Earth and meet the Museum’s weightiest object: an original skeleton of an Edmontosaurus. Other exhibits explore the sustainable use of natural resources and technical inventions inspired by nature; lovers of sparkling crystals are in for a treat i

Kunstmuseum St.Gallen

The Kunstmuseum St. Gallen, with its attractive, temporary exhibitions of contemporary and modern art, enjoys international renown. As a treasure chest of eastern Switzerland, the museum houses an abundant collection of paintings and sculptures from the Late Middle Ages through to the present, the highlights of which are shown in a permanent exhibition. The building, constructed in 1877 by Johann Christoph Kunkler in a neoclassical style, invites one to stroll through the art of the past and present: a dialogue of old and new enables a diversified cultural experience, whereby international traveling exhibitions can be seen, and masterpieces of the past meet today’s contemporary art! An extensive educational programming team has made the Kunstmuseum St. Gallen an attractive place for encountering art of the past and present! The Kunstzone (art zone) in the Lokremise (engine depot), the Kunstmuseum’s second «venue», serves as a culture lab for contemporary art.

This wouldn't normally been a place I'd select to visit but my partner is very much into fashion and embroidery in particular. The museum is very well set out (it has english written descriptions for each room) with not only examples of workmanship but also the machinery used. For those who are interested in more academic studies then there is an impressive library. PS Loved the cloth tickets!
