This vast and splendidly designed museum is alone worth the trip to Şanlıurfa. The collection ranges from the Palaeolithic period until now, and it contains so many exquisite pieces. The section on Göblekli Tepe is excellent and provides a wonderful insight into this mysterious culture. It deserves a good number of hours to see this stunning collection. 6 stars !!!!

I have lived in Turkey for 8 years and visited countless museums, but I have to say that the Mosaic and Archaeology museums in Urfa have to be my favourite. The mosaic museum has a very unique layout and allows you to get a very close up look at the beautiful mosaics. The archaeology features local history and artifacts and is very interesting.
