In August myself, my wife and 2 kids 11yo & 7yo did the K3 tour followed by the K2 Museum & Submarine visit. I would strongly recommend the K3 guided tour (in English). It's takes about one and a half hours and the guide Pierre was excellent and very knowledgeable. You are brought on a tour of the docks and into the huge K3 U-boat bunker. The guide gave a detailed history of the area and WW2 circumstances surrounding the construction of this Mega Structure. He also painted a detailed picture of the human side during this period. My wife even really enjoyed it, and surprisingly the kids weren't bored at all. At an extra €6 per adult and €3 per child this is definitely worth adding on to your trip before visiting the Submarine museum.

What a fantastic place. We booked in advance and went with friends. Audio tour was great, available in different languages. This was combined with a few museums in Lorient. Absolutely fantastic opportunity to climb on board this submarine, loved it and would recommend it. Book in advance.

L’association Sellit 150 est née en 1979 sous la direction de Guy Herssant. Dès 1981, elle organise les Rencontres Photographiques. La galerie Le Lieu existe, quant à elle, depuis février 1989. C’est un espace de découverte, de réflexion et de rencontre entre les artistes et le public. Inauguré en présence d’'Edouard Boubat, Le Lieu a accueilli plusieurs grands noms de la photographie, beaucoup des jeunes auteurs et quelques expositions collectives. La galerie s’efforce de proposer une programmation artistique cohérente, qui pousse à la réflexion sur des questions posées à, et par la photographie, et plus largement, par les pratiques de l’image (multimedia, vidéo) Le Lieu est un médiateur culturel majeur de l'agglomération de Lorient.Chaque année nous animons de nombreux ateliers pédagogiques, à la galerie ou en milieux scolaires. Le Lieu assure aussi des visites commentées tout public organisées pendant les expositions.
