insideout is a combination art gallery, garden shop, gift shop, and home/patio decor shop. An art gallery where you can also obtain mucking boots, fence, plants, patio furniture, rugs, felt slippers, and on and on. It is also a community art education center, with classes and workshops in the arts. The gallery features pottery, jewelry, painting, etching, sculpture and photography by local and regional artists. Product lines include Oxford Garden, Loll and Fermob furniture, Dash & Albert rugs, Jerith fence, Seed Savers seeds, and Jackson Pottery.
My kids and I love to come here. I shop and they relax in the Fermob swings under the aspen trees. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and they actually like children. I have found Mothers' Day presents, teachers' gifts, funny cards, and a great sun hat here. It's close to Main Street, but the atmosphere is a world away!

There are a lot of great dinosaur fossils on display, not all are genuine fossils but rather copies of other fossils, but they do state on each if it is real or a copy (otherwise hard to tell) A great range of big and small, 3 that you can touch. it's all crammed into an old basketball court though so very hard to get good pictures. But still well worth it. Gift shop has a huge variety including kids toys, nice decorative stones, and drawers full of fossils for sale.

Warrior's Work & Ben West Gallery offers and displays a wide range of art from roughly 36 regional and local artists. Gallery owner, Randy Berger, is the designer, creator, and inventor of the beautiful leather frames and mirrors which can also be found throughout the gallery. The more recent addition of leather jackets, hats, and mens & women's clothing and jewelry allows visitors the opportunity to, not only see great art, but also to wear it.

A gathering place for railfans, especially those with an interest in South Dakota railroads. Pictures, facts, and history!
A small museum packed full of interesting items from the beginnings of the rail road in Hill City and surrounding areas. They have a large electric train set too!

We are continually researching names of the men who served in the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) in South Dakota. We print the roster periodically and it is available for review at the Museum. Over 30,000 men served in South Dakota between 1933 and 1942. We have collected over 20,000 names to date. Photos, artifacts, documents are also on display.
Seemed like a lot of the shops were closed during the off season, but this place was open! The displays were super cool and may artifacts. The curator was very friendly and knowledge able about the area. The museum itself was small, but packed with things to read and picture to look at.
