A really great museum, friendly staff and excellent exhibits ! Especially interesting was the permanent (?) exhibit of the industrial development of the textile industry in the area, making Borås and Sjuhäradsbygden into a center of textile design and production, from the late 1600’s hard working, underpaid laborers, to today’s change into development of new fibers and design, focusing on re-using materials and being environmentally conscious. Until April -20, there is also an interesting exhibit of some of Gianni Versace’s work and life, well worth seeing !

The Borås Museum of Modern Art is known for its national as well as international exhibitions and for its rich collection of Swedish contemporary art. The museum consists of three floors divided into several exhibition spaces and has educational activities for children and adults. The museum also has a regional assignment to collect, preserve and display moving images.
