Hacıvelioglu Mansion was built in 1897. Its importance today mainly comes from its role in the War of Independence. It was used as a military headquarter by Mustafa Kemal Ataturk during the Independence War. Ataturk stayed in this house for a night and marched to Kocatepe that is 20 km to the west of Suhut where the Turkish army started large-scale attacks against the Greek forces.

The construction of the building was finished in 1906. The mansion is a two-storey building with a penthouse on the roof.
