The outside of the hotel paints a different picture of what is waiting for you on the inside. Employees are welcoming, friendly, and very polite. We stayed in a suite ($124) per night. We had two beds with lumpy mattresses, five pillows on each bed, and one blanket for warmth. No amenities in the room to speak of. We went downstairs to ask about restaurants in the town. Young lady had no knowledge of any place to eat as she had only been there about two weeks. There were no maps, lists of restaurants, or any information about Plainview. TV service was horrible, no information on Channel lineup, operation, any information would have been helpful. Room was probably very nice 10 years ago but now very worn and dated. Could not use bathtub because of the rust, entrance door had two inch gap at the bottom and 1 inch gap around remainder of door. Very noisy as you could hear everything especially doors closing and elevator noise. I could go on but I think you can see the picture. it would be a great help to seniors to have the taller commodes, grab bard near the bathtub, a chair to sit in to put on shoes and socks. Also the carts are a great help but, if you are a senior they are extremely hard to manage and get inside the room entrances. Accessibility is appreciated by everyone regardless of their age or agility. After the rooms are renovated and upgraded a binder of amenities, restaurants, info about Plainview including places of interest would be greatly appreciated by travelers.

I have reviewed it several times snd they keep repeating their request. I would never stay there agsin snd bugging me to “fill out the survey” lowers the ratings even further. The room and hallways stink of chemicals. Breakfast had no choices. Not up to super 8 standards.

The hotel room had food from previous guest on the floor, dead bugs in bathroom and the pool was closed which was blamed on Covid. Breakfast was lacking with no milk for cereal, eggs or flavored coffee creamer. The breakfast area was overcrowded.

Complete with luxury bedding, cool rooms and quiet accommodations, our Plainview hotel is perfect for relaxation or getting work taken care of.
This was the worst motel I’ve ever stayed in. 1- given key to room already occupied, then gave us room without updating their records. 2-at 4AM, someone now with OUR room key opened our room! Scared the hell out of us! 3-Room stunk, plumbing and elec issues, old and worn out property with zero maintenance. 4- parking lot dark in back adjacent to truck stop. We had the worst night’s sleep and left at 5AM, even skipped the breakfast with little trust it would be edible. I can’t believe Choice hotels allows this property to carry their brand, it will discourage me from staying at any Choice property again.

It's not fancy, so don't expect the Hilton. It IS an older motel. It's small & quaint, but it's OK for a couple nights' stay. Everything was clean and in working order. There was no coffee maker, but I'm not a coffee person, anyway. Toiletries are "basic" soap and shampoo, but that's all I needed. The walk-in shower had plenty of hot water, so no problems there. The bed was surprisingly comfortable and the room was quiet. I was a little concerned about flooding when it rained really, hard, but the parking lot had few, if any problems. The only problem I had was it took several tries to get my door key to work...I guess the key was worn out. Parking is a little cramped, but if you back out just right in the morning, there are no problems. Nothing fancy, no bells and whistles, no breakfast... just a small, cozy room for one or two people. I've stayed in much worse chain motels.

A rating of 3 may be generous, but given for the hospitality and helpful friendly attitude of the new owners. They only took over the motel in the past couple of weeks and are already busy making improvements. New bedroom furniture is being installed and redecoration taking place. However, this motel is showing its age and a lot of work needs to be completed before this motel will be anything but average. There was a microwave and fridge but both need to be replaced. Positively it’s in a central location, the bedroom and bathroom were perfectly clean with fresh towels and linen. So that would appear to br one important issue which has been addressed already. The new owners are a lovely helpful and friendly couple who deserve every success in their new business.

If you are looking for a private peaceful retreat or the opportunity to meet and mingle with other guests, the President’s House is sure to meet all your expectations. Breakfast is always served in the dining room, or weather permitting, you might choose to have it on the patio. Whatever the case you won’t be disappointed.
We have stayed here many times and the rooms are beautiful and very clean! The attention to detail throughout the house is refreshing. It’s like a home away from home. The owners work very hard to make sure each visit is perfect. The surrounding grounds are peaceful and well maintained. I highly recommend staying here. You will not be disappointed.
