A great place to stay, especially away from the rat race in Auckland central. We used this place to stay so we could travel by train to see the Paul MacCartney show. It gave us the ability to do this without getting caught up with the heavy traffic in Auckland.

Stayed there as almost no rooms available in town and late arrival. room like in a very old fashiioned and smal. Horrible price of USD 195.-- per night. The experience was very negativ and the Chinese women very arrogant in dealing. Unfortunatelly city booked and no alternative. Suggetion: Avoid to stay there. Hiltbrunner

On our round trip of the North Island we booked a room for two people and one night at the Hunua Rise B&B pretty much last minute (Via Booking. Com). The location was fairly easy to find, although the address was not known on Google or on our GPS. But one could hardly get lost on a linear road with few neighboring properties. We were welcomed by Graham, our host, and proceeded to enjoy what the Hunua Rise B&B had to offer: a staggering view over the city of Auckland including a sunset, a pool and of course the company of the host! Graham ran the place while his wife Lilly was out of town. We had a beer (or two) and he even prepared us dinner when he learned that we hadn't had ours yet after a long day! Together with some of the other guests we had a very nice evening, followed by a quiet night and a breakfast that kept us going throughout the next day. It was a perfect in my opinion, I wish I could've been there for longer. I will certainly try to stay there again should I find myself in the area again. - Stephen

Papakura Pioneer Motor Lodge & Motel is only a five 5 minute walk into Papakura Town centre where are many great places to explore, shop and enjoy a great meal at.
Clean, tidy and a well set out unit. The motel is handy to shops and, important for us, near the excellent Papakura RSA. Just be careful when parking as the park numbers do not match the units! We went to the wrong unit due to this, but it was no problem and the manager even came to us with the right keys when he saw what had happened.

Stay was ruined by the Long term guests ... extremely noisy and rude. Had a lot of trouble getting my kids to sleep with all the loud music and swearing and cigarette/weed smoke coming from outside our window. Management didn't seem too bothered. Lack of Towels ect. Wouldn't recommend

We had a quick look at our room and just took it as we wanted to be close to Papakura. Here is the list of issues: Window latch in toilet was broken so unit was not secure. Shower head was up side down and was dripping. There was black mold on the window sill and around the shower. Cans of food from previous person was left under sink along with takeaway container. Light in toilet did not work. Under the single been was a pair of shoes, used tissue and a toy. Shabby patched up switches and broken door. Very old and dated. Unit needed a good clean. Clearly signs of some long tern residents. Reading the review from 2 years ago about room 2 same issues. On checkout I tried to explain the problems and when I said about the shower, the lady oh yes we have the plumber coming today? I did not believe her and she was not interested in listening to me. We hardly ever write reviews but people need to know. Closest I have come to walking out and asking for a refund but we have family to attend to which is why we stayed.
