Very nice place

Reviewed By Marooka

This hotel is a real nice place if u wanna discover the dolomities It takes 2 hr from Bolzano and trento and a good hr from Madonna di campiligo Rooms are well sized. Super clean, owner is willing to help. Breakfast is local one (not like German style) with lot of cold options only and plenty of good quality coffee There is a living and dining area which is very nice to sit and have a drink after a long day The only drawback is the internet coverage, it is not enough, but I think adriano will take care of it after the holiday season N.B You can ask about Trento card for free which you can use to ride free transport in the region and see lot of castles in the city of trento

Charming family run hotel

Reviewed By thoughtfuldiner

I had discovered this place in beautiful Val di Non when trying the restaurant a couple of months ago, which was great. So I took the opportunity of a short vacation in Trentino to stay in the hotel. It may be only two stars, but it is more comfortable, spacious and clean than many four stars I've visited! Totally charming (I had the 'Renetta' room on the second floor). It is located on the main road of the village but the place is very tranquil. The owner Danilo is a real professional with a personal touch; nothing is too much trouble and he will go all the way to accommodate your needs. (Brits will like him because while he looks very serious he has a nice sense of humour). Breakfast is wonderful. Much home made and local stuff, including lovely jams, cakes and cheeses. Remember, this is a small *family* hotel, so don't expect the one hundred items of an international hotel! This is simply a wonderful selection of genuinely good ingredients, which speak of the terroir around. Prices are extremely reasonable for the quality. To repeat, the place is probably two stars because it does not have the necessary frills for a higher classification, such as minibar etc., but the level of comfort -bed, bathrobes, wifi, shower, space- is high indeed.

Unlucky?

Reviewed By MadameGateaux

I really don't like having to write negative reviews on TA, but I can't pretend I was satisfied with my stay. First off: we didn't actually stay at the agriturismo, we were put in an apartment a couple of km away, and this was the main problem. The booking I made stated: 2 connecting double rooms (it was a family trip with two children) at the agriturismo, which on the pictures looks delightful (and, from the brief glimpse we caught of it when checking out, looks delightful in reality too). However, shortly after we made the booking, we received a telephone call from the owner (a gentleman - I gather the place is run by him and his wife) telling us that there was a problem with the heating, and so they couldn't provide us with the promised rooms, but could offer us equally satisfactory accommodation 200 metres away in an apartment. We were told we could either use the kitchen there for breakfast, or come to the agriturismo. After being assured that the accommodation was every bit as good as the rooms we'd booked, we agreed, and said we'd have breakfast at the agriturismo, since we were only staying one night, and also as the price of breakfast had been included in the booking. When we arrived, the wife of the gentleman we'd spoken to met us and accompanied us to the apartment. It was a large two bedroom place, and they'd made the beds up for us and turned on the heating, so it was nice and warm. The apartment itself was nice enough, clean, and had free wifi. However, it wasn't 200 metres from the agriturismo. "It's around 1.5km" we were told upon enquiring about arriving there for breakfast. However, the satnav said more than 3km, although I concede satnavs are notoriously unreliable and like sending people round the houses, so it could be there was a faster way to get there. We arrived around 6pm, got changed, called a few places to try and book a table for dinner (there's next to nothing round about, and the trattoria recommended to us was already fully booked, so we ended up going to a place in Fondo nearby, which was excellent - Trattoria Bar Del Montanaro Esigente, if you're staying in the area and looking for somewhere to eat), and went out. We returned between 11.30pm and midnight, got ready for bed, and then realised...there was less than half a roll of toilet paper. There were also no toiletries, which is a big negative for hotels, but despite having found toiletries in previous agriturismi I've stayed in, I'm still not sure if this is something I should expect or not. But toilet roll is a pretty basic essential. We had tissues and napkins with us though, so we made do, no big disaster. The next morning, the heating that was so lovely and warm when arrived the night before was stone cold. And it was freeeeezing. This is the second week of December we're talking about, up in the mountains. So, up we get, straight into the shower. Except, after my partner had had a shower, the hot water was finished. So, a quick icy cold wash for me and the children. By this point we were pretty cheesed off. None of these things are big on their own, but put together, they didn't make for a very relaxing night/morning. We went to the agriturismo to check-out, and the final straw for me was seeing the other guests popping downstairs for breakfast in the nice, warm, beautifully decorated house (I read in one of the other reviews that there's a relax room? No idea, since we didn't actually see anything further than the entrance), after we'd had to drive 3km from a freezing cold apartment with minimal hot water and no toilet roll (after about 2am). The lady who greeted us (the same one who accompanied us to the apartment the night before) was very nice, but could only apologise and say we should have called her re: the toilet roll (at midnight? It seriously wouldn't have even occurred to me to do so), that she couldn't understand why the heating wasn't on, and that regarding the hot water issue, that boiler was the only one they were allowed to put in, whatever that means - that they couldn't install one that could heat more water, I suppose. She did try to suggest that one of the children (aged 10 and 13, not the sort of ages to be pressing switches for the sake of it) had turned the boiler off, but we specifically checked when the hot water ran out, and it was definitely on. The apartment itself had a double bed, four singles, and a sofa bed, so I can't imagine how the shower situation would be managed at full capacity during a longer stay. Something that irritated me slightly was a comment made during this exchange, along the lines of the guests staying in the main house had paid much more than us, and we'd booked last minute. Granted, we did book last minute (36 hours before, in fact), and the price was good - 80 euros in total, which is great for the time of year, with people going away for the weekend for the Christmas markets etc. But I don't consider this to be a valid argument. The advertisement on the site didn't say: "Connecting double rooms hopefully, but you are booking last minute, so fingers crossed." The gentleman who called us to alert us to the heating problem also went out of his way to assure us that the accommodation he was moving us to was equal in every way, when it quite clearly was not. Also, when his wife tried to call him - telling us she'd get him to come and speak to us, I assume since he was the one who'd made all the arrangements - he was unavailable. I would have given this review two stars instead of three, but the lady we discussed it all with refunded us 30 euros for the inconvenience and offered us a free night in the future if we wanted it, which I appreciated. I don't wish to be unfair, so let me add that the agriturismo itself looked lovely, and the guests who were checking out just before us seemed extremely happy with their stay. Perhaps just double-check that you will be staying in the actual agriturismo itself if you book. We declined breakfast, so I can't comment on that.
