The Ladakh capital city of Leh lies near the eastern parts of Jammu and Kashmir, on the crossroads of the historic "Silk Route" from Sinkiang to West Asia and to the plains of India. The humbling monasteries of Shey, Hemis, Alchi, Thikse and Lamayuru will nurture your spiritual needs, and the landscape of Leh provides for a number of adventure activities including mountaineering, white-water rafting and trekking along the Markha Valley.

The view from the property is amazing! Property Manager Rumpankar bhai and Salim bhai will make you feel as if you are at your own home. The staff (Suresh Bhaiya) is really friendly and the best part is they will cook whatever you will tell them to cook. They have a meal plan as well, this place is value for money! I was so happy with this place that I ended up extending my stay from a week to more than a month!

When we hear of hostels, we get an image of busy toilets, fuzzy/small room, small bunker etc. I had the same feeling when I visited Leh for the first time. I booked Gostops Leh 3 days prior to my arrival. I stayed in Gostops Jaipur and Delhi, so I had good review about the franchise. It was new when I visited so there was hassle to find,as cab drivers didn't know about it, but I had it on map.I stayed there for 4 days and all I would say is "This is the best place to stay in leh". Let me share you the major things that liked about GoStop Leh 1. Hospitality : Its not just the hostel member, Entire Leh is so pure, people there are so sweet and welcoming. Hostel staff specially, I cant forget you guys. Thanks for taking care of my while I stayed there. 2. Reach-ability : You are just 400m away from the main market and trust me its very close. Thought you might feel a bit low when you will come back from Market, there are high roads, I felt a bit low 1st day, later it was fine. 3. Food : There's Kitchen at 2nd floor and the best part is you can cook there something or ask the staff to get something for you. They are very helpful and friendly. 4. Close to Major Places : Its just 150m away from Leh Fort. there is a Gompa very close to hostel. you can go for the hike there, its a good hiking spot and the view form there was breathtaking. Its just 1.5 or 2 km away from the Shanti Stupa. 5. The View : The site have 2 floors and from the roof you can experience a great sunrise and the view of mountain covered in snow. You can even see the Mighty Khardung-La Pass. Finally I would just say that if I will go to Leh back again, GoStop, Leh would be the only hostel I will be staying in, Unless they are full :D

‘Vasudevai kutumb kamb’ is the Sanskrit for the world is a community Hearth hostel is a restored community space for soul travellers to stay, meet and share their stories with the traveling community. The space is designed with amenities to make your stay comfortable. Daily community events like film screenings, BBQ evenings, heritage walks and art / photo / design exhibition.
I can't say enough about my 1 month stay at Hearth. At first I was dicey about my stay as I wasn't sure if it being a hostel and not a home-stay would be a problem as it would get too crowded. I planned on staying for just a day or two and then shifting to a different location. But I felt the comfort of home at the place on the very first day itself. I did not make friends at Hearth, I made a family. From the people that came to stay at the hostel to Kunga ("The Legend") and Ache Pema, I miss all of them tooo much & I've created memories with all of them that I'd cherish for the rest of my life and which will also motivate me to come back again at Hearth. Can't wait to meet them again!! BEST STAY IN LADAKH, PERIOD. Ps. Don't stay here if you mind Monopoly Deal becoming an addiction.
