Nenagh Heritage Centre is located in two stone Georgian buildings which were built in between 1840 and 1842 as the Governor's house and Gate house of an extensive gaol complex for North Tipperary . We also provide a research service for people whose ancestors orginated in North Tipperary .
This is definitely worth a look if you're near the town. They had great exhibits upstairs in the old prison building. The info provided by the staff was very good, concise and we learned a lot in the short amount of time we were here. They have an old shop and a classroom setup at the moment which are really cool. We visited on Friday August 14th.

This little museum was absolutely lovely! The owner knows SO MUCH and was a delight to talk to! I wouldn't have even known about this place as I only found out about it when I got to Cashel to see the Rock. If you've got some extra time, it's a must see! I loved how there were a lot of different artifacts, all relating to Irish history and culture. Really cool.
