History Hunt - SALISBURY

The Salisbury History Hunt is an interactive treasure trail, just £5 from the city's Information Centre or website’s Web App, requiring the Hunters to solve a series of clues centred on some of the city's historical events and locations. If they solve them all and gain the Password they will earn a little Treasure from one of our local Treasure Partners (pub/café/shop). Trail time: 1-2 hours. Trail difficulty: challenging (Ages 12+ / Family groups). Happy Hunting!

Stonehenge public footpath

Take the public footpath (there are loads of walks in the area, but the quickest route to the stones is from Larkhill) to get almost as good a view as the paying visitors! You can also see some other interesting sites along the way, e.g. some burial mounds - read up on the history and info online before you go so you know what to look out for :)

The Hall - Alex Moulton Charitable Trust

The Hall Estate is comprised of an historic Jacobean house - known as The Hall, seven acres of grounds including manicured lawns, shady hidden corners with well-established trees and greenery, three quirky temples/summer houses and a striking rock garden. Home to the late Dr. Alex Moulton, creator of the Moulton Bicycle, the estate is now cared for by the Alex Moulton Charitable Trust.

A real secret garden perfect for a short stroll with lots of hidden corners and a fascinating history. Informative and friendly volunteers. My children loved finally going ‘behind the wall’!
