8 Ghost & Vampire Tours in Philadelphia That You Shouldn't Miss

November 4, 2021 Leida Jutras

One of the most historic cities in America, Philadelphia is an ideal place to spend a weekend - preferably a long one. Be sure to see the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall, where the Constitution and Declaration of Independence were signed. Both are part of Independence National Historic Park. Philadelphia also boasts some outstanding art museums, including the Rodin Museum. The Franklin Institute Science Museum is one of many area attractions honoring the life and work of Benjamin Franklin, the city's most famous ambassador. After digesting all of that history, be sure you save room for a classic Philly cheese steak sandwich.

A really great tour, but I enjoyed the Dark Philly tour just a little more. Pros: Ted was funny, knowledgeable and informative. He is a history teacher who knows his stuff. The tour was very interesting and enjoyable overall.Great stories and tidbits about Philly history. Cons: The tour is a bit too long to begin with, and the staff at Christ Church take over the tour at that cemetery. That guide was not as interesting and took up much of our time there by chatting with us instead of giving us any pertinent information. This resulted in the whole tour being extended by at least a half an hour. It also would have been nice to know in advance about an additional guide for tipping purposes. Also, there was a particularly gabby girl in our group who must have forgotten she was not the tour guide. I do wish Ted had engaged her a little less so that she kept a bit more quiet.

We assembled in the Signer Garden and waited as it was a big group over 100 people waiting. They quickly broke us into smaller groups and took about 25 people at a time on the tour. The gentleman who took us around definitely played the part of guide very well. He was a great story teller. It was almost 90 minutes and the stories were very interesting. Great value for the price. Guides do accept tips at the ends but are very polite. Would do again!!
