Vancouver was founded as “Gastown” by an Englishman with a penchant for beer and storytelling. Today Gastown is a historic section of the Canadian metropolis, and the lively pubs still reflect the area’s former status as a sort of community drinking center. The city’s forests, grand parks, and impressive suspension bridge beckon travelers to explore them, as do the city’s shops and museums. Relive the glory of the 2010 Winter Games with visits to Olympic venues and the marvelous Olympic Cauldron.

Vancouver TheatreSports (VTS) brand of improvisation is a highly theatrical version of improvised comedy relying on audience suggestions to create on-the-spot scenarios and 'plot lines.' No two shows can ever be the same. For the past 5 years VTS has been voted the ‘#1 Improv Comedy Company’ at the prestigious ‘2019 Best of Vancouver Awards.’ VTS is a well-respected international leader in the improv art form, entertaining more than 65,000 people per year through 11-13 shows per week, 52 weeks per year at its own theatre, The Improv Centre, located on Granville Island. An intimate space, The Improv Centre is a fully-licensed facility with its own Bar & Lounge over-looking False Creek Marina, and VTS patrons are welcome to take their beverages into the theatre to enjoy during the show.
Most laughs I've had in years! Players were funny and enthusiastic and audience participation was encouraged. Not for young children or prudes but not vulgar either. Just real adult/teen humor. The admission price was very reasonable. Get tickets early because it sold out on a Tuesday night ! Theater is located on Granville Is. so parking is at a premium ( use the nearby underground lot ).

Tired of going from one overpriced bar to another, while waiting in line in the rain? Yuk Yuks is your solution my friends! I've been to Yuk Yuks five times now and it's never disappointed! It's very refreshing to go to somewhere that doesn't try to be glam with overpriced drinks. Yuk Yuk is exactly as it should be. Sort of a dark dingy movie theater with a ticket booth, where they you enter a large seating area. Everything is chaotic but drinks are reasonable and the food is stuff you want when you have the drunken munchies. The comedy is usually awesome. The hosts are great as well. BE AWARE: THE COMEDY IS QUITE UNCENSORED. They don't censor any jokes from anywhere to go from sexual content, drugs and jokes that may offend those that are not open to all comedy. Personally this is one of the reasons I enjoy it, but the audience should be aware. A few pointers if its your first time going. Tickets are available online, but there are services fees where if you buy them in person it's 20$ flat (cash). On Saturdays booking online is reccomended as it fills up fast and if you have a big party not everyone may be able to buy a ticket. Drinks are fast and affordable, but if you order food it may take upwards of 20 minutes to see them, to where you either forget about them or become convinced the staff forgot them, then bam nachos show up in front of you. Enjoy the comedy as it comes , from my experience there is no particular order on which comedian is funniest. Here you can't always expect the acts to get funnier and funnier. Where as everyones been great, I found that the funniest act can be anywhere from the opening, act, middle, even the host. Of course it may not always be the case but just something that may help you prepare to enjoy your night more

There's a massive two story ball room with slides and digital games to play. Great for anyone under 8. Virtual Reality machines for older kids, an arcade and great food on the top floor. Downstairs we spent quite a while in the costume shop. We found some really cool props. Plan to go back for the amazing wigs for my cosplayers. There's a shop for sports fans, one with only toys made of wood. There's clothing, boots, bathing suits, shoes and baby gifts. It is the most complete collection of things kids love.
