A beautiful park and gardens. Great for a picnic or a stroll! There is a playground off the side of the park which is fenced in. Bring a picnic, a blanket and a book to spend an afternoon here relaxing!

We have over 75 local and Canadian artists represented in our store. We carry pottery, woodcarving, etchings, paintings, jewelry, fibre art, handblown glass, sheepskin slippers, leather work, ironwork, children's games and toys and many other unique, one of a kind creations.

We visited and shopped this week in the lovely historical town of Perth. This collection at Riverguild of small momentos, cards, art, locally crafted sheepskin slippers hats, mitts, great selection of jewelry, mugs, and all manner of gift ideas is 99 percent made in Canada and 100 percent well chosen items. We a bought stunning felt handbag and wallet made by the artist "Anais" who happened to be working at the store that day. She was gracious and kind and took some extra time to chat with our 11 yr old about her creations! We also purchased a beautiful medical grade washable Ontario sheepskin for my senior father as nothing is as comforting or healing to rest on. So happy to finally be in a gift shop not drowned in things made in other countries then slapped with a Canada symbol to trap buyers. Please visit this store, support Canadian artists and artisans, you will love your purchases. Lovely store.

Perth Brewery

Reviewed By HungryInTheHat - Lethbridge, Canada

Pretty straightforward place. A building full of brewing equipment and a small area in the front with tables and chairs to enjoy the fruits of their labour. An excellent selection of a wide range of beers, most of which is on tap, and they will let you taste. They offer a 4 beer taster, as well as pints, and sell their beer in 6, and 12’s, mix and match. Some stand outs were the Maple Ale, the Mocha Stout, and the Bonfire Black Lager. Also surprisingly good was an offering brewed in conjunction with a local restaurant that has oysters in the brew. Unique, but really nice. Definitely worth a visit.

Top Shelf Distillers

Top Shelf Distillers is an independent small-batch distillery located in beautiful Perth, Ontario. We craft Vodka, Gin, Cocktail Bitters & Moonshine (under the Reunion Moonshine brand name). At our facility we offer spirit sampling and the sale of all of our products in our storefront. Open 7 days a week.

We decided at the last minute to do a two hour drive and take a tour of this place. It was well worth the trip. If you haven't tried butter tart moonshine, you have to. It was all really good, including the maple bacon, but that was the one we liked best. The tour was very informative - we don't remember the guy's name but he was knowledgeable and obviously did his job with passion. It too was top shelf! We bought a few bottles to take home. Will have to come back once their Canadian whisky is ready in December.

Perth Chocolate Works

Perth Chocolate Works is family owned and operated artisan chocolatier kitchen and chocolate retail store located in the beautiful historic Code’s Mill building at 17 Wilson Street East in Perth, Ontario. All of our chocolates are made from the highest quality ingredients - locally sourced when possible - in small batches in our on-site kitchen. We turned our family’s passion into a way of life and are fortunate to be celebrating over 20 years of business! Perth Chocolate Works originally started on Manitoulin Island and chose the ‘Prettiest Town in Ontario’ to expand with our second location. Perth opened its doors to the McKeen family and it automatically felt like a home away from home. Our passion is chocolate! It brings us joy, whether it is enjoyed as a self-indulgence or given as a gift. Our team wants you to get a taste of what chocolate and genuinely tasty treats mean to us! So from our family to yours, we hope you enjoy your Chocolate Works experience.

Delicious chocolates! I had the raspberry delight (my favourite), mango, chocolate peppermint as well as a citrus cream. My husband had a cashew caramel bar. Both were absolutely delicious! A must do when you shop around Perth!

The Mammoth Cheese

Reviewed By JohnMcQuarrie - Ottawa, Canada

While this is not a destination attraction, it is certainly worth a few minutes to enhance your visit to Perth's storied "Turning Basin". Take a minute to read the two information panels on the display and this excerpt from: Perth, Spirit of Place by Kay Rogers: "The Mammoth Cheese was more than a novelty. Its purpose was to promote the export of Canadian cheddar around the world as an exhibit at the Chicago World's Fair of 1893. Cheddar’s significance to the economy of Canada, especially Ontario, and to the livelihood of farmers, including those in our area, cannot be underestimated. In her book, "By the Labour of Their Hands: The story of Ontario Cheddar Cheese", Heather Menzies writes: In the late 1800s, cheddar cheese was second only to timber in export volume for Canada. From the late 1800s to the early 1900s, when cheese was the staple source of protein in the diet of the English working class, eaten half a pound at a sitting in the noontime meal, Canada supplied seventy per cent of Britain’s huge import needs. In the heyday of Ontario cheddar, there were 1,242 cheese factories dotted across he province, exporting over two hundred million pounds of cheese a year. Cheese accounted for thirty-five per cent of farmers’ incomes. John McQuarrie, Ottawa
