Worth the bumpy drive. Love this stony beach which is quiet. Clear water and stunning mountain back drop. Taverna does great food especially fried courgette balls to die for... My favourite spot in Crete!!

One of the best beaches of Crete not very Known. It has two beaches on sandy to West and one with small stones to East. There are candeens. At east beach umbrellas are free. You pay only your coffee or sandwich. In this beach you dan see kedrous a type of trees that there are only in south Crete. It's suitable for young children

Excellent beach, into which we headed forcedly, as it was so windy at the sandy beach other side of the peninsula that there was sand in the air feeling like needles. But, a really good accident! A very rare beach consisting purely of these around 10cm diameter round stones. At the sea bottom, clear sand. The water so clear, couldn't be any more cristal! The atmosphere here at this European Union Blue Flag beach was something of unique! A must visit!

Nice calm rocky beach The E4 trail to eleafonisi starts here (well marked trail head) it is a 4-5 hour walk bit completely worth it. We spent one day at krios beach, and the next day we walked from krios to eleafonisi.

We spent a couple of quiet evenings here watching the sun go down over the bay ... and a couple of even quieter mornings recovering from the cocktails the night before, and having excellent coffee and fresh juice brought to us by its lovely friendly staff. It really is the perfect beach bar: it melts into the background behind the tamarisk trees when you are on the beach, but opens up once you step inside - a substantial place, with lovely seats under straw umbrellas set up for really fabulous views. It was quiet out of season but I imagine it gets lively and crowded in the summer ... but maybe would still have seats on the edge of the wooden boardwalks for peace and quiet and the sound of the sea.
