Six thousand years ago, human footprints were left in the volcanic mud along the shores of Lake Managua. Preserved over centuries, these footprints can be seen at The Museum of Acahualinca in Managua, the capital of Nicaragua. In addition to the footprints and impressive collections of pre-Colombian artifacts in the city's museums, Managua has much more to offer. The Tiscapa Lagoon Natural Reserve is a watery retreat within the city, with bars, shops, ziplines, and a canopy ride with views of downtown.

This is the main reason why I travel to Managua - to see the Cathedral Santiago de Managua, which is located next to the Revolution Square, Casa de Los Pueblos and Palacio National de la Cultura. This is the oldest structure could be seen among the rest.

If you're a tourist and need your share of souvenirs then this is the place in Managua. Go to the big building where there's local food and you'll experience just about any Nicaraguan dish at relatively cheap prices, an average price per meal is about 3 dollars. Don't be shy and talk to the locals, they're friendly and willing to guide you or give you directions.

We were trying to decide which mall to visit... we ended up going to both Metrocenter and Galerías Santo Domingo... we found the other reviews of Metrocenter to be accurate... although both malls had some of the same stores Galerías had more restaurants and stores... we preferred Galerías
