It is the fifth-largest city of Lower Austria and is approximately 70 kilometres (43 miles) west of Vienna. Krems is a city with its own statute (or Statutarstadt), and therefore it is both a municipality and a district.

Walked in and the owner greeted us warmly and proceeded to start pouring us glasses of wine to taste. Wine was very good better than most California wines. We purchased 4 bottles including his sparkling Rose. When all was said and done the total for 6 glasses of wine and 4 bottles was 41.00 Euro. Would HIGHLY recommend for anyone looking for some excellent wines and tasting.

.Pass through the old gate and enter the old town area of Stein. It's a charming example of an old city, modernized. Buildings are small and old but the shops, restaurants and bars are vibrant and filled with both locals and tourists.
